I'd pronounce it Loo-see-a but suppose the chee sound is probably correct. Like it.

Pretty name pronounced Loo-chee-a.

It will probably be constantly mispronounced though.

One of my best ever friends has this name and she is a lovely lovely person.

She is a Loo sha.

Go for it

I think of the boy in the Gladiator. I would pronounce it Loo-sha. I think I like it, but wouldn't name a child it as I prefer traditional names!

As an Italian name is pronounced with a sh rather than a see a - like cappu (ch) cino or so Italian speaking Dh tells me.

I think it is very pretty.

Report
Janni · 20/09/2008 21:03

I knew a Lucia of Italian parentage. It was pronouced Loocheea. It was pretty and suited her, but it could be frustrating for your DD if people don't know how to say it.
