haven't found one name that we like for dd3 (due nov)

  1. it has to sound the same in about 3 different languages (family and places we live) (kate and jane or charlotte don't work for example)

  1. not looking for anything too cute like polly, millie, maisie etc

  1. would like something that is not overly popular, but not like talulah or niamh

Report
girlsallaround · 18/08/2008 20:54

thanks

helena - i like it and my dd1's name is a version of helena (therefore eliana/elena etc also cant work)

ella - also like it but dd2 is Emma

i do like Alicia but husband does not

Anna - in my husband's native tongue it means 'where?'

and one more restriction i have - can't have a religious name (like maria or natalia)

Aviva is a lovely Hebrew name - dh and I considered it for dd1. Still love it.
Noa is another, and I think that would 'translate' well into French and English pronunciations - you could adapt it a little as well. I have an Israeli friend named Carmel, also appropriate for French/English. What about Eva or Ava or variations like Evelyn and Avaline?

If you both like Alexandra, you can use it and then make a mutual decision not to abbreviate it to Alex.
