How would you pronounce it....Rommy or Row me??

Also what do you think of it/what vibe do you get from it?

Row mee is how I would say it I like it has a Romany vibe to me x

NapQueen · 22/01/2017 21:56

Row Me.

All I think of is the movie, Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion

babyblabber · 22/01/2017 22:00

Rommy

Yeah that movie with phoebe from friends comes to mind, although I've never seen it!

CactusFred · 22/01/2017 22:03

Row me.

This was on my girls list and I was talked out of it as everyone said it made them think big fat gypsy wedding.

Still love it though!

buttercup54321 · 22/01/2017 22:06

Prefer Rosemary

DramaAlpaca · 22/01/2017 22:07

I'd pronounce it Roe - me.

To me it's a nice nickname for Rosemary.

Joeybee · 22/01/2017 22:23

Row-me definitely. If it was pronounced 'Rommy' I would totally dislike the name.

dalmatianmad · 22/01/2017 22:27

I should say "Rommy" sounds like a strange version of Tommy Hmm

twinjocks · 22/01/2017 22:30

Row-me. Lovely name, but could personally never have used as it rhymes with our surname!!

JanuaryJuniper · 22/01/2017 22:36

I would personally prefer Row mee! I'm not looking for suggestions for names to shorten if we did use it it would be Romy on the birth cert.

Do you think it works with Eli & Aphra

OP posts:
DramaAlpaca · 22/01/2017 22:54

Yes, it does work with Eli & Aphra.

GinIsIn · 22/01/2017 22:56

It's Row-mee. And in Romy & Michelle's high school reunion.

Lindy2 · 22/01/2017 23:07

The Romy I know pronounces it Rom-ee. (rhyming with Tommy).

JanuaryJuniper · 22/01/2017 23:36

Do you know many Romys? I have never met one and like the simple but quirky vibe.

OP posts:
DumpedAbroad · 22/01/2017 23:39

My first thought was 'and Michelle's High School Reunion'

But it was fleeting and thinking on the name it's self it's pretty. I like it.

JanuaryJuniper · 23/01/2017 14:47

I think I need to have a look at that film!

BrowsOnFleek · 23/01/2017 14:56

It's Row-me and I love it. Also love Roma. I've only met a couple of people with these names

Pluto30 · 23/01/2017 19:07

Rommy.

Like a CD rom, or like Tommy.

Definitely row-me, I love it. (and I have an Eli)

I think it goes perfectly with Eli and Aphra.

primaryboodle · 23/01/2017 19:21

Rommy, had a friend with this nickname shortened from ramara. Was lovely :)

I know a Romilee who was shortened to Romy pronounced 'Rommee' but I would default to RowMee as in Romy and Michelle's High schol reunion
