"Violet! You're turning violet, Violet!"

Popped straight into my head! I love the film though, so it's not negative for me!

I'm afraid it's Violet Beauregard from the chocolate factory.

Or Violent

Not my cuppa, but then, not my baby! If you love it and it goes nicely with last name then my opinion doesn't really matter all that much.

Thcweam and thcweam until I'm thick.

It's a pretty name but a bit Victorian tweeny even without the Just William connotation.

Like all the flower names, Poppy, Lily, Daisy, Rosie, Violet, Iris. They make me think of the flowers.

I know a little Violet, she's 4 and adorable! I've heard on here before something which is proven to be true - all past connotations disappear in the presence of your child, and it will be the same for your friends and family, I guarantee it. Smile

It's a lovely name, if you like it, use it!

I don't think of the colour at all. I think of Violet Elizabeth from Just William books. Oh and didn't Hyacinth Bucket have a sister called Violet?

It's a lovely name, congratulations!

Violet Beauregard from Willy Wonka.

I don't dislike the name, but she's still the first thing that comes to mind.

Second association is the Violet from A Series of Unfortunate Events, and I wouldn't be surprised if the new series on Netflix spurs a massive increase in popularity for the name Violet (not sure that Sunny will experience the same, and I'm quite sure Klaus won't).
