Love Rhys. I am Welsh. However I decided against because everyone round here would pronounce it Rees (England), which to my fluent Welsh ear, was wrong.
So depends if that bothers you.
I like Ciaran, is it pronounced like kieran? So again, open to "mistakes" in pronunciation

The welsh rh is very distinctive and english speakers really struggle with it. I can't explain how here, there is no english equivalent.
Kind of like a rolling r like you get in french but blown out of the mouth with much more force.

I'm with Frazz. Rhys is a terrific name but not when it is pronounced Reece.
I worked with a Rhian and my colleagues were amused by my correct pronunciation. It is not Ree-ANN or Rian (RHEE-ann with the RH like a Scottish R and an H said at the same time ).

Ciaran is a great name but I have reservations about giving a baby a name from another language - so only if you have Irish roots.

So of the 2, Ciaran, with a fada. It will be misspelt - Kieran, Kiran, Kiron and so on all his life.
