My baby is due this month but totally stuck on a middle name! What do you think goes well with Willow? At the moment I like Willow Rose but not sure if two nature names is a bit much!!

Hmmmm I do think it's maybe a bit too much of a nature theme for my taste. I'd probably opt for something which wasn't nature related / floral. Do you like any of the virtue names? I love them as middle names:

Hope
Faith
Joy
Verity
Felicity
Clemency

Or maybe a family name which has a nice meaning for you?

I think Willow Rose is lovely.

Willow Anne
Willow Elizabeth
Willow Marie
Willow Alice
Willow Iolanthe
Willow Jemima
Willow Victoria
Willow Faye

I think it goes well with both longer and shorter names so just played about. Our middle names have always been sourced from family which helped to narrow it down.

I'd love to find out how many little girls have Rose, Grace or May as a middle name. Been on MN for the best part of a decade and they're still mentioned on nearly every name thread! Nice names I guess but I wouldn't be surprised if more than half of the nation's little girls have one of them as their middle name.

Is there any way to find out I wonder? The ONS just does first names, right?

Having said that, Willow Rose does sound lovely! If you're not bothered about the popularity of Rose than go for it, I don't think it sounds tom much to have two nature names.

kezmarie they're everywhere! Grin

I have to stop myself posting Bingo every time all three are mentioned on a name thread!

When I was little the popular middle name was Louise. Isn't it weird, you think you're being original but somehow you're part of a trend without you even knowing - how does that happen?!

Amelia's another one - lots of people thought of it as a fairly unusual choice then all of a sudden it's the number one name for three years running.

I believe that if ONS included middle names that Rose would be in the top 10. Cannot recall where I read it though.

It's going to take a while for Rose, Grace and May to die out. How many 70s-mid 90s girls have Jane, Ann(e), Louise or Marie as a middle name?

I prefer Willow Rose to Willow May too.

Willow May sounds like the start of a sentence, "Willow may ... do something"

My nan's middle name is May. She is 85. My great aunt was a middle named Dorothy. It's funny to see all these names back in fashion!
