I have always loved this name, it would be shortened to Minty. Thoughts?

I dont want to be pedantic but wouldnt it be spelt 'Araminta'?
I like Minty or Mint as a nn but it depends where you will be living tbh.

Love it.

It reminds me of a children's program I used to watch in the 80's. Can't for the life of me remember what it was called, but loved her name.

I love it and would use it! It's spelt Araminta though, only one r

Yup only meant to be one r. My phone is having a bit of a paddy of late with touch sensitivity.

Definitely Araminta (and I love it). I have a friend with a sister called this (Minta for short).

I went to nursery with an Araminta, nn Minty :) She was bright blonde so it suited her. The only other Araminta I've known was a pig who was made into delicious sausages. I like the name but because of that it feels a bit porcine to me! Love Minty actually, cute!

I love it, largely because of the book 'Moondial'! Grin

I don't like it. Very OTT. And I hate Minty.

I've never heard of Moondial, I'll have to look it up.

It's a book by Helen Cresswell, and was also a children's tv series in about 1989. Both were fab!

Be warned - it's quite sad though!

Minty sounds like a Sloane ranger boarding school gal with swishy blond hair, probably not the brightest spark. Works in a posh shop and lives in a central London flat paid for by Mummy and Daddy.

Really not keen (in case you hadn't guessed!)

This reminds me of the Janet and Roy thread......

It's very sloany. She'll need a velvet alice band and some pearls to wear in her range rover!

Cute, infact for some reason I occasionally call my daughter that!

Love this name. Shame it does have some Sloaney associations but maybe they will fade soon.

Love it, very pretty. And Minty is cute, but I prefer Araminta in full so would use that.
