I think if you are considering forest then I'd spell it properly, otherwise he's got a lifetime of correcting people.

My favourites are bear & river.

Everest is a popular female character in Paw Patrol, in case that hasn't crossed you radar yet.

Oh I like Forrest! lucky I think the name has two Rs...a bit like the name Scarlett having two Ts.

Everest I'd associate with the girl dog in Paw Patrol now so too feminine.

River

The only Forrest I've heard of is Forrest Whitakker and he spells it like that, so it looks right to me as a name.

Well, Forrest is the name spelling. However, Forest is also lovely.

Sorry but Forrest is going to be associated with Forrest Gump. River is just about tolerable

Forrest or River. Agree "rr" for name-Forrest rather than tree-Forest. I like River a lot.

Bear is sweet but I tend to assume it's a baby-nickname for Edward/Teddy.

I would have said Everest is my favourite until I read the comments about it being a female character in Paw Patrol. I assume Paw Patrol is very popular with older children? (My baby is tiny so I don't yet have the pleasure of kids TV!)

I know a Bear....it suits him as an adult so certainly did as a child, I also know 2 men named Moss, a Rush, an Oak and an Onyx!

Ooh and a 'Lief'

Forrest. I like bear but just reminds me of how the kids at the school I used to teach at described everything they didn't like as 'bare long miss'.

Don't call him forest! He will have a lifetime of 'run forest run' Grin.

I'd go for bear.

Forrest or River for me. Bear sounds like a nickname and Everest is a bit too specific (mountain or uPVC windows...) for me.

Are you a family of explorers?

Bummymummy77 · 04/11/2016 19:21

Forrest is the correct way of spelling it in the states.

Having said that, I know 5 Forests and 7 Forrests. It's hugely popular here.

I LOVE River.

And if people are going to make unkind comments why don't they make them in their heads only?

Or you could combine the names and call him Everbeariverest.

My sons nickname is Bear. It's a fantastic nn, not sure as a real name though.

I think of double glazing as well as the mountain for Everest.

Same with Forest - always think of Gump.

River is fine, it's a known name.

What about the name Lief? Leif? I can't remember how you spell it. It's pronounced the same a leaf of course. I think it's darling. I like all of the names mentioned in the title, but I'm not utterly sold on Bear.
