I have an Oliver - only ever called that when bad - he's an Ollie really (on school register as Ollie).

He loves the name (he's a teenager) - I love it also. Never regretted it!

Obv I'm biased but it would have to be Ollie.

Robert. Much less popular.

Really like Robbie too.

Robert.

Rob is nice when he gets too old for Robbie, and there's no grown up shortening for Oliver. And there are a lot of Olivers about and not many Roberts.

RW is 40+ years older than the ops Robbie. It's irrelevant.

It won't be the first thing this Robbies school friends and then work colleagues will think of. Doubt they will even have heard of him.

I have a Robert. Can be shortened and pet named but still a good solid name for when older. He calls himself Bobs at the moment though.

Robert/ Robbie by a long way.

I also think the RW link is irrelevant, as his peers won't make that association, just old people, lol (and by that, I mean people over 25! lol)

Robert/Robbie/Rob

Ollie does sound wet in comparison tbh.
