Thomas, Samuel or Hugo ?
Thanks :-D

MyBreadIsEggy Mon 17-Oct-16 11:33:35

Thomas or Samuel.
Sorry, but Hugo is one of those names that makes me shudder confused

Loyly Mon 17-Oct-16 11:33:39

Hugo

Ferrari2016 Mon 17-Oct-16 11:34:50

All 3 nice. Personally I like Hugo best.

ThroughThickAndThin01 Mon 17-Oct-16 11:35:00

Thomas if you like Tom.

KoalaDownUnder Mon 17-Oct-16 11:35:09

Ooh, I was rubbing my hands together with glee, but these are really inoffensive. grin

I vote:

Hugo (but prefer Hugh tbh)
Thomas
Samuel

I find Samuel slightly wet. blush Also Daniel. I think k just don't like names with that sound at the end!

UntilTheCowsComeHome Mon 17-Oct-16 11:35:35

Thomas and Samuel are the names of what seems like 90% of the boys aged between 0 and 18.
I know a million (slight exaggeration) of both.

Hugo is better because it's not as popular but it is rather 'posh'.

Sandsnake Mon 17-Oct-16 11:35:52

Samuel, I think. All nice names though!

HardcoreLadyType Mon 17-Oct-16 11:36:52

Samuel and Thomas are meh.

Go for Hugo.

KoalaDownUnder Mon 17-Oct-16 11:37:11

Avtually, scratch that - I only like Hugh. Eggy is right. Hugo not nice.

Thomas, but actually prefer just Tom, by a long way. (Yes, I know you're not allowed to use nicknames as full names on mumsnet, but I don't care)

VoldysGoneMouldy Mon 17-Oct-16 11:39:18

Love Hugo. Hate the others.

RiverTam Mon 17-Oct-16 11:41:26

None.

Sugarpiehoneyeye Mon 17-Oct-16 11:42:57

Samuel, love Sam.

Chinlo Mon 17-Oct-16 11:46:35

Samuel and Thomas are both awesome. Hard to pick one of the two.

Hugo is.. meh it's okay.

MyBreadIsEggy Mon 17-Oct-16 11:46:57

Koala never thought of shortening it down to Hugh! That's much better!
When I hear the name Hugo, I immediately think of the irritating, fat gargoyle from The Hunchback of Notre Dame hmm

MotherDuckSaid Mon 17-Oct-16 11:48:09

I'm putting ticks next to each name pple say they prefer ,on paper (yes it's got to this stage)!
Appreciate the feedback :-D
Any alternative suggestions welcome !

Thomas

NappingRabbit Mon 17-Oct-16 11:51:41

Thomas is fine, as is Tom but I really don't like Tommy as a nickname.

I like Sam but don't like the 'mule' sound in Samuel.

Really not keen on Hugo, far too Made in Chelsea for me.

PotatoBread Mon 17-Oct-16 11:52:15

Sorry but I don't really like any of them. As a PP said Thomas and Samuel are the names of about 90% of the younger male population (also a slight exaggeration). If I had to pick it would be Thomas though.

Really dislike Hugo. It's a bit too Made in Chelsea or whatever that prog is called

AlexandraEiffel Mon 17-Oct-16 11:52:25

Thomas is too common for me. Which is entirely contradictory as my eldest has a very popular name.

Hugo too posh. Really not keen.

Samuel lovely. Was a contender for my eldest. I don't know any children called Samuel.

windowsneedaclean Mon 17-Oct-16 11:54:43

Love Samuel, Thomas is ok but a bit boring and Hugo is too posh imo

MiaowTheCat Mon 17-Oct-16 11:59:46

Hugo = a bit try hard for me
Thomas = everywhere... about 50% of any class of boys I've taught has been Thomas (makes it handy to get them to stop mucking about)

Samuel was on our list but we had girls.

MotherDuckSaid Mon 17-Oct-16 12:09:45

This naming boys malarkey is turning out to be even harder than finding a decent double pram ! Why do I have ten girls names on the tip of my tongue ?!

autumnmoon Mon 17-Oct-16 12:35:11

As names, I ....
Love Sam
Like Tom
Hate Hugo

CakeRattleandRoll Mon 17-Oct-16 12:35:19

Samuel
