I've had my heart set on this name for years now. I absolutely love it but the reaction from friends and family has been far from positive. Honest opinions please! Grin

I quite like it, but it does make me immediately think of Adrian Mole.
And Pandora's Box.

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing Confused

I love Pandora, and most other Greek mythology type names, but wouldn't use Pandora because of the link with jewellery and 'boxes' Grin
What about other names in that ilk:
Persephone
Cassiopeia
Cassandra
Hera
Phaedra
Phillippa
Phoebe

It makes me think immediately of Adrian Mole. This is not a bad thing, I love adrian mole and have always loved the name Pandora. Now that youve reminded me I will be putting it on the list if eventual baby no 2 is a girl.

Go for it if you love it.

I love the name Pandora. I think of the name before the jewellery even though I own one of the bracelets.

I like it, but yes, everyone will say "box" and it won't be funny after the 10,000th time!

Use it if you love it.
It's a nice name, Phaedra is an option !

Nope, there'll be too many disgusting drunks lurching up to her in bars slavering about opening her box. Don't inflict that on her.

A small person in my family has this name and it's lovely. She's called Panda for short. It means 'the girl with all the gifts', what could be better!? I hate the jewellery but to be honest it never made me think of that before I knew baby Pandora. It's definitely unusual but in a good way.

I like it. The 'box' connections might put me off slightly but the Adrian Mole connection wouldn't! He was an intellectual you know, even if he wasn't very clever.

I'm not a fan because of the jewellery & box thing.

How about Paloma?
