lol i really like it.. and it goes so nicely (IMO) with our surname
I was thinking / hoping that children of his age won't even think / know of Elton John. And by the time he's a teen Elton will be long gone... (Sorry Elton)!

Elton is legend. Wether he's dead or alive. I don't think he'll be long gone by what, another 13 years. That's no time at all

What about Elliot, then. It's quite similar

Yes I think so!

I actually like it. Surely Elton John can't own the name forever (it's not even his real name anyway)?! Go for it. Yes people of your generation and above will comment and it might be a bit tiresome, but your babies peers will probably not have a clue who Elton John is.

Yes and middle name John, when people ask if he is named after you know who, look em dead in the eye and say yes. Then silence.

Haha thx for the great responses , I'm yet to persuade my OH (even if Elton john is his favourite musician ever)!
Hoping he will agree if I spring it on him right after delivery 😁

Because that is going to be such fun for the poor boy for the next 80 years...............

Is Elton the name you call "the bump", by any chance? Beware familiarity. What starts out as a joke can begin to seem perfectly normal after 9 months. I nearly convinced myself that Brunhilde was a perfectly good name for a little girl on this basis.....!

I know a 40-something year old Elton. If I thought it odd when I first met him then I certainly don't remember that now. It's just his name, and it never dawns on me to make the connection. I like it!
