You could, but you shouldn't.

PotteringAlong Sun 25-Sep-16 21:50:19

No.

MotherDuckSaid Sun 25-Sep-16 21:59:11

lol i really like it.. and it goes so nicely (IMO) with our surname
I was thinking / hoping that children of his age won't even think / know of Elton John. And by the time he's a teen Elton will be long gone... (Sorry Elton)!

dontwannapullahammie Sun 25-Sep-16 22:00:22

No

Elton is legend. Wether he's dead or alive. I don't think he'll be long gone by what, another 13 years. That's no time at all

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost Sun 25-Sep-16 22:07:08

What about Elliot, then. It's quite similar

itssquidstella Sun 25-Sep-16 22:07:41

I actually like it.

Garthmarenghi Sun 25-Sep-16 22:11:25

Yes, it's a good name.

Fruitboxjury Sun 25-Sep-16 22:16:51

Yes I think so!

I actually like it. Surely Elton John can't own the name forever (it's not even his real name anyway)?! Go for it. Yes people of your generation and above will comment and it might be a bit tiresome, but your babies peers will probably not have a clue who Elton John is.

NerrSnerr Sun 25-Sep-16 22:20:58

I like it. puts Elton on list if the baby in my belly is a boy

Ankleswingers Sun 25-Sep-16 22:22:11

No way shock

TooTweeOrNotTooTwee Sun 25-Sep-16 22:23:23

I know a two year old Elton. It's quite popular in Sweden if that helps

Sugarpiehoneyeye Mon 26-Sep-16 12:55:44

Of course you can. 😄

Yes and middle name John, when people ask if he is named after you know who, look em dead in the eye and say yes. Then silence.

MotherDuckSaid Mon 26-Sep-16 13:22:01

Haha thx for the great responses , I'm yet to persuade my OH (even if Elton john is his favourite musician ever)!
Hoping he will agree if I spring it on him right after delivery 😁

"Yes and middle name John, when people ask if he is named after you know who, look em dead in the eye and say yes. Then silence."

Because that is going to be such fun for the poor boy for the next 80 years...............

peppercold Mon 26-Sep-16 14:20:45

2014newme Mon 26-Sep-16 14:21:44

Is Elton the name you call "the bump", by any chance? Beware familiarity. What starts out as a joke can begin to seem perfectly normal after 9 months. I nearly convinced myself that Brunhilde was a perfectly good name for a little girl on this basis.....!

MotherDuckSaid Mon 26-Sep-16 16:49:35

Lol no, it's not a name we've had for bump, just a name I genuinely like !
My dad's name is John.... Maybe a tribute is in order ;)

MotherDuckSaid Mon 26-Sep-16 16:50:12

Brunhilde is a wonderful name for a bump !! :-D
