Hello Smile

Our son arrived yesterday morning. We cannot agree on a name! However, we both like Alfie? Just Alfie. Not Alfred, etc.

Thoughts?

My DS has 3 Alfie's in his class. It's very popular.

I like it. It's very popular if that matters.

It's pretty popular, so obviously a lot of people do like it! What's more important though is that you both do!

Very popular now. I wouldn't use it

Not my cup of tea really, but I meet a lot of them at various ages and they all seem to suit it quite well. The popularity might put me off a little too, but it isn't the end of he world. If you and your DP both like it more than anything else, then I would go for it.

Very popular and not in a good way IMO. Sorry! Archie slightly better.

It was my second choice, but dad got his way after the event as I wasn't fit to debate it (although he didn't like it when originally suggested!) Mine is 11 now and we've only met one other in our area. You won't regret it! Mine could never be anything else now. Congratulations!

I'm not keen. But I think that's just because of his popularity, but. It's obviously popular for a reason.
Congratulations Flowers

But call him an "adult" name on his birth certificate?? Alfred or Wilfred?

My grandad was always known as Alfie, even though he was Alfred. I love the name but it was very popular when I had my DS, so he is Joseph Alfie. If you both love it go for it. Congratulations :)

Just Alfie is fine, he will become Alf, as he grows up.

I know a lot of dog's called Alfie so wouldn't call a child it but it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. It's your baby!

It's very popular so wouldn't be one I would go for.

I don't like Alfie personally, but as long as YOU love it, that's what matters. Congratulations!

Nobody else's opinion should matter really. I don't like it - too cute and too popular, but that shouldn't bother you if you both like it! I bet you wouldn't like my name choices!

Hope you've had a great first 24 hours with him.
