I know of a Taylor (boy) and a Tayla (girl). If this makes any sense it's not my usual taste in names but I do quite like it.

It makes be think of The Tailor of Gloucester

I know of a Taylor (male) and it's fab, really suits him, and is different without being wacky.

I also have known Tayla Taylor and a couple of other variations as girls.

We wanted Taylor for a boy as we had only ever heard it used for boys until about 4 months before he was born when there just seemed to be loads of girl Taylors. In the end we used it as a middle name, I still love it though.

I like it for a girl, but not for a boy

A Taylor Swift song popped in my head when I read it. Think they're a lot more girl Taylor's than boy.

The only Taylor's I've come across in real life are boys, but it's a unisex sort of name.

I'm not a fan at all of surnames as first names, but if you like it, just go for it!

Report
Loyly · 08/09/2016 19:52

Just personal preference - I always really dislike surnames used as first names, sorry.

A boy in my family is called Taylor. It suits him but it took some getting used to and I still see it as more of a girls name...

At one point Taylor Swift was dating Taylor Lautner Grin

Better for a boy, horrible for a girl imvho!

I know a 45 year old male, a 9 year old boy, and a 9 year old girl called Taylor. Not my favourite name, but I mainly think of it as a boy's name.

Love it for a boy.

I think it's a fairly charmless name for a boy or a girl, there are plenty of names out there with more character.

Makes me think of taylor hanson. I was in love with him 20 years ago and therefore will always love the name.

Definitely masculine sounding! Not a name I'd choose, makes me think of a taylor...
