I decided when I was 10 that if I ever had a daughter I'd call her Savannah, so the name has been with me for over 20 years. But I love Romilly too. I'm not too bothered if MN thinks it's a bit too ch....word! Grin

Misspelt! I wasn't suggesting a wacky new version.

Romilly. It will stand the time test better.

As long as you're from nowhere near Stockport, Romilly is fine!
But up north it'd be a definite no. (Romiley is a town between Stockport and Ashton....)

Romilly is lovely I have never cared that much for Savannah but I suspect it is because I love Suzannah.

Romilly is nicer I think.

Romilly is my favourite.

Romilly but only because I had a friend with that name as a child and she was adorable.

Ahem. Just because the Queen's oldest great-grandchild was given the Savannah shouldn't automatically mean MN considers it a little ch..

I think it depends on you surname

I like them both but I think Savanah indicates a personal heritage with "the south" and Romilly is for everyone/anyone IYKWIM

Romilly. But I am biased as I have one.

If you read MN you would probably believe they are similarly popular but there are usually only about 50 Romilly's a year. Savannah is much more popular. If that bothers you.

SellFridges - Yeah, there was a thread that said Romilly was too much of a 'now' name that will be ridiculously popular soon. Not according to http://names.darkgreener.com/ Smile

Do you have a NN for your Romilly?

I do think that Romilly is very "2016" TBH, even if it's not topping the name charts its in the genre of names that's very "now". but that wouldn't put me off if I liked it
