It's in my top 5 boys names! I love it.

But where I live, it would be pronounced weirdly, so we had to veto it :(

Not a fan, I associate it with naughty boys this is because the ones I know are often in trouble. Sorry.

Really like it.

And even more so for a girl.

Perfect - if you have a Zebede & an Ermantrude Smile

Otherwise it's a no from me - sorry.

I love it,but could be biased. How about Dylan
Alexander
Joshua
Adam
Or Dylan Thomas.

Love it! I work with the most gorgeous little boy called Dylan.

Dylan Thomas does sound good, but he was a famous poet. ( Thomas was surname I think)

I don't think Dylan is as popular now as it was about ten years ago. I know a few who are aged between 9-14. I used to really like I as a name and it was 'on my list' when I was younger.

I think it's horrible, sorry, but. That's my opinion. It's not a fact, and. It is very popular.
MN suggestions
Dylan Albert
Dylan John
Dylan Joseph
Dylan Sean
Dylan Thomas
Dylan Francis
Dylan Charles
Dylan Oscar

No it's not as popular, my son who is 21 just got in before popularity struck. There was loads of them round my way.

I don't like it because it reminds me of "dill" which is slang here for a stupid person.

Also, I wouldn't be able to assume the sex of the child based on the name, which, if you're looking for that, is great. But it's not particularly masculine anymore, but it's not feminine either.

I once had a horse named Dylan. I think it's a nice name

Katerness12, Dylan is definitely a masculine name!

According to the ONS stats out today, there were 16 girls named Dylan last year and 1903 boys named Dylan. It is clearly a very uncommon name for girls, and a pretty common and traditional name for boys.

Love it have a son called it and have taught several. Never heard it shortened.
Dylan Alexander goes well depending on surname. Don't forget to check initials.

My 2nd DS is Dylan Rhys I love the name and a name does not make a child naughty I've never heard such rubbish!

I love Dylan but would only have used it for a girl. Sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear!

Great welsh name!

Love it but couldn't use as its my FIL's dog's name. I don't think it's a 'dog name', just that he's used a 'people name' for his dog.

I don't like it, perhaps because of some of the Dylans that I know. Sorry.

It has a naughty boy association for me too- and that is based on the ones I've met. Of course that is entirely anecdotal and yours may be entirely different.

I think it's lovely. Quite popular about 5 years ago in Ireland.

Ok seriously - you CAN'T go for Dylan Thomas!! Look him up! He was famous as much for scandal, drinking and being outrageous as for being a writer.
