I prefer this spelling btw.

Thoughts?

I knew a horrid one at school which puts me off it but if you like it then go for it! It has a nice ring to it X

One of my neighbours is a little girl called Maisy. She really suits it.

But, I can't help but think it's one of those names that wouldn't work so well for grown up women with serious jobs.

It's cute and reminds me of Maisy Mouse. Not sure it's ideal for an adult professional person, which she will be one day, but that's just an opinion. Many people weren't too keen on my kids' names but it made no difference to me. Go for what you love!

I know someone who has a child called Maisie I love it.

Mausageandsash Thu 25-Aug-16 23:06:01

Yes a agree shoes v cute for a baby but less mature, also forgot to add it could be associated with double barrelled names like Maisy-jane

ClockMakerSue Thu 25-Aug-16 23:06:10

It's too cutesy for me-feels like a pet name.

What others are on your list?

INeedNewShoes snap

tomatosheet Thu 25-Aug-16 23:07:24

We also have Ivy, Darcy, Daisy smile

Mausageandsash Thu 25-Aug-16 23:08:40

Seeing you're other DCs names draws me to it. That would go really well with them! X

INeedNewShoes Thu 25-Aug-16 23:08:53

Somehow all three of those names work better for grown ups than Maisy, but I can't put finger on exactly what the issue is!

ClockMakerSue Thu 25-Aug-16 23:08:55

I really like Ivy!

INeedNewShoes Thu 25-Aug-16 23:09:38

Daisy & Maisy are a bit similar, don't you think?

If you shout to the end of the garden for one of them, the other one will think it's them you're after!

INeedNewShoes Thu 25-Aug-16 23:10:18

Or do you mean those three names are also on your list rather than the names of your other children!?

CafeCremeMerci Thu 25-Aug-16 23:10:33

I love Maisy.

But not with Daisy.

By the time this generation of kids become adults, there'll be loads of Maisy type names, it won't seem at all 'not adult/serious'.

tomatosheet Thu 25-Aug-16 23:11:35

I was replying to the person who asked what else was on our list! We have a son named Harry.

villainousbroodmare Thu 25-Aug-16 23:14:24

It reminds me of Beatrix Potter's character Mrs Tiggywinkle, the hedgehog washerwoman.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 Thu 25-Aug-16 23:14:33

Love Ivy! star star star

KoalaDownUnder Fri 26-Aug-16 04:24:53

I adore Ivy.

Maisy is too cutesy for my liking.

chattygranny Fri 26-Aug-16 04:47:43

I prefer the traditional spelling Maisie somehow it looks more balanced.

GoldPlatedBacon Fri 26-Aug-16 07:19:07

I like Maisy, I prefer that spelling. But I prefer Daisy and Darcy out of your list

TomDaleysTightTrunks Fri 26-Aug-16 07:57:48

Don't like Maisy or Daisy, wet sounding and boring. I love Ivy or Darcy, more so Ivy.

GoldFishFingerz Fri 26-Aug-16 07:59:14

Prefer Mary

Porcupinetree Fri 26-Aug-16 08:21:23

Maisy sounds too cutesy.

Fine for a cutsey-poo sugar mouse
