We would like to call our second daughter Autumn. First dd is Tabitha. Anything wrong with this combination? What do you think of Autumn as a name? We've been a struggling a bit to agree on a name we both like. Thanks!

It's very pretty and the two names go well together! Lovely combination. Autumn and Tabitha go fab as sisters.

Love it Daisy, it's a great choice, don't even think about changing your mind.
Tabitha and Autumn, perfect.

We were going to call our last dd Autumn. But at the very last minute, changed our minds. No other reason than we couldn't make it work with the middle name we picked and that wasn't going to change.

It's a gorgeous name and very nice with Tabitha.

It's a strange combo, given your first has a solid name. Not that anything is wrong with the name Autumn I just don't think the names are in the same Category.

If your kids were
Daisy and Autumn
Rosie and Autumn
Fleur and Autumn . . . . I think it would work

Personally I would find another name to go with Tabitha, like
Stella and Tabitha
Phoebe and Tabitha
Moira and Tabitha
Isla and Tabitha

Beautiful name. We have five children and I have always ignored the 'does it match' question because they are individual people so it doesn't matter really. It's surprisingly rare, outside of Christmas cards, how often all the names are used at once anyway. People always ask how are children? How are the boys? How's the family? Autumn and Tabitha are beautiful names X

I was thinking about Autumn last night, lovely name. We couldn't use it as doesn't go with our surname, but I think it goes nicely with Tabitha. I see them dressed in deep orange, crimson and russet, skipping through a sun dappled glade together, haha.

Completely agree with thebaker. I really like both names anyway and think they go fine together.

While I agree with all the comments that names shouldn't have to 'match', for some reason I really prefer it when sibling names 'go together'.
Autumn is not my usual style, it's slightly more unusual whereas I prefer more classic and vintage names just like Tabitha. I would say they are names from different genres. I really prefer Tabitha and Amelie / Amelia, for example.
Having said that Tabitha and Autumn do have a nice cosy / mugs of hot cocoa sound to them, so if you really love Autumn then I think they go well enough together, despite being different styles, so go for it!

I have a tabitha.

Autumn was never on my short lists but it is pretty.

I agree with others that it has a different 'feel' to tabitha but if you like autumn then that's all that matters.

Personally, I'm not really keen on the combo. But Tabitha is a lovely name! Smile

How about Tabitha and Athena or Tabitha and Louisa?

Thanks everyone! Yeah it's a tricky one about the 'name matching'. I know what you mean that the names come from different genres. I guess Tabitha was my dh's favourite name (biblical meaning) whereas I've always had a soft spot for flower/nature names. So we're having trouble agreeing but my dh likes Autumn enough to go for it. I think they sound balanced together in that one doesn't dominate over another and they are both fairly unusual. I'm getting the cosy/ cocoa feel as well - thanks for pinpointing it. Ultimately I think it more comes down to whether Autumn is a decent/ non embarrassing name as they will be spending most of their lives as individuals. ...desperate classes, friends, adult lives etc

I agree OP, it's so much more important that each name is nice individually.

I love both Tabitha and Autumn and think they do go together in that cosy, mugs of cocoa and traipsing wellie boots through piles of red leaves way!
