But but but les Fauves were described as "wild beasts" no?

I like the art but I'm not sure about it as a name.

I love it, I know a girl called fauve.

Report
Honeybee79 · 19/08/2016 19:40

I wouldn't. People would be constantly mishearing/misspelling/mispronouncing it.

fluentinsarcasm · 19/08/2016 19:46

Confused...is it pronounced Flove if it rhymes with Clove?

Boy or girls name?

Report
EllenDegenerate · 19/08/2016 20:01

No it rhymes with clove, there is no L sound.

It's a girls name.

There's a breed of small, cute, scruffy looking French scenthound called the Basset Fauve de Bretagne, although unless you're a dog-saddo vet like me that's probably not going to be the first thing that springs to mind. When she's old enough you could get Fauve a Fauve Smile

No. Flavia is lovely though.

MrsGsnow18 · 19/08/2016 20:15

Is it pronounced F -ove with the ove being the same as in clove or drove?

It's not terrible. It looks nice written down.
It would certainly require spelling out for most I'd imagine it help with pronouncing.

I knew a girl called Fauve. No one could pronounce it properly when the they sawere it written down. I don't have strong feeling about it either way, don't like it, don't hate it.

First time I've heard it, I think she will have a life time of correcting folk.

Always a big consideration for me, then again I was bitch slapped for suggesting Lawson so what do I know.
