My son is 10 months old, his name is very similar to a celebrity and it's already causing problems.

At first, people would say the celebrity's name, whenever I introduced them, thinking they had heard it wrong... Failing to realise they were taking the piss.

I'm not sure what to do...

Can you adapt the first name to a nick name?

<struggles to not ask name>

Bluesand1 Sun 17-Jul-16 20:50:17

I think it depends on the celebrity..are you able to give any more info?

Vixxfacee Sun 17-Jul-16 20:50:22

You should tell us the name..

NotWithoutMyMerkin Sun 17-Jul-16 20:50:22

Tell us the name?

On the whole I expect the celebrity mightnt be as well known in a few years and it will cease to matter

MaisieDotes Sun 17-Jul-16 20:50:58

I'll do it for you globe

What's the name OP?

At least tell us the celebrity.

Yeah we are gonna need the name like.

Elephants25 Sun 17-Jul-16 20:58:44

Charlie Puth is the celebrity. He is very well known to the younger generation and sings some big hits that I didn't know he sung

zippyswife Sun 17-Jul-16 21:00:05

Never heard of him.

It not exactly elton john or wayne Rooney. I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Iguessyourestuckwithme Sun 17-Jul-16 21:02:24

So I know his songs but I didn't know his name. I wouldn't react to Charlie

Elephants25 Sun 17-Jul-16 21:03:42

I'm sure you'd know his songs...

Glad you wouldn't give it a second thought, I'll try and stop thinking about it

turquoise88 Sun 17-Jul-16 21:03:54

So are you saying that your surname is similar to Puth?

I wouldn't give it another thought tbh.

Elephants25 Sun 17-Jul-16 21:04:31

Yes, well, my surname isn't. His last name is Booth though

SteviebunsBottrittrundle Sun 17-Jul-16 21:04:48

I've never heard of him!

I used to work with a tall, red haired lady called Diana Ross. She would be in her thirties now I think. It made me think "oh like Diana Ross" for about a second but then I just thought of her as Diana Ross from HR.

ShatnersBassoon Sun 17-Jul-16 21:06:47

Nope, that means nothing to me. I thought your baby's name was going to be Elvis Cresley or David Hameron.

Don't introduce him with his full name - Charlie on its own is not interesting. Or call him Charles if it's bothering you.

RonSwansonsBestFriend Sun 17-Jul-16 21:08:39

Ah, don't worry, it's only familiar amongst the yoofs and those who have kids around a certain age.

I wouldn't even make the correlation and we have a couple of fans of his in our house!

It's a nice name.

WellErrr Sun 17-Jul-16 21:09:16

Never heard of him!

29redshoes Sun 17-Jul-16 21:10:28
