Less than a month to go and we have been set on two names for the last 5 months.

Just not any closer to deciding between them! Love them both, wish we were having twin boys!!

What's your preference? Neither isn't gonna help at this point haha! If you had to pick one....? We have a single syllable surname x

  1. Jackson Troy
  2. Seth Tyler

I'd switch them around and have Jackson Seth or Seth Jackson. Not keen on Tyler or Troy.

What Sophronia said. Troy has a dated early 1980s vibe to it - you can nearly see the day-glo batwing sleeves - and Tyler just makes me think about grouting.

Might be as well to read Cold Comfort Farm to find out more about Seth?

I'd pick Jackson. Seth is a playground insult where I'm from.

Jackson is a surname to me.

Jackson, goes better with a single syllable surname.

Thanks everyone for input. However definitely won't be changing the names in any way. We adore both names (which is all that matters) and obviously we considered Seth Jackson etc but we don't like it the same way we like the other two.

It is really just a question of 1 or 2... We just can't choose... Hoping when we meet him we'll just know....

Failing that I hope we have another boy one day to use the other name haha! X

Seth is so much nicer. Biblical type name, but more unusual than Daniel, Jacob, etc.

I know a lot of people are using Jackson now, but it doesn't seem like a proper name to me, as it is actually a surname meaning 'Jack's son'. Jack itself is nice, though very popular.

Not that fond of Troy or Tyler (Tyler is slightly better) but they are OK as middle names. Or Jackson as a middle name would be OK.
