Naomi and Saskia sound lovely together. Saskia is a strong confident name. Also probably less common than Claudia.

Saskia!

Claudia is so lovely.
Saskia reminds me of Swastika, to be honest... Swahs-tee-ka, Sahs-kee-a Sad

But I'm an expat and my first language is German, so maybe that's different for a native (English) speaker.

Naomi and Saskia go much better than Naomi and Claudia.

Saskia is very popular around here.

I think it is a husky's name.

Claudia is marginally better I suppose.

Love Naomi thoughSmile

I really like both

Maybe Saskia edges it for me.

I really love both names. I know one Saskia aged about 10, really lovely girl. I also know one Claudia, pronounced cloudia, again, really lovely young lady, about aged 20. I would pronounce it as Claudia though.
Love Naomi too. You have great taste.
I think if I had to choose I would go for Saskia. With Claudia and Naomi, 90's super models spring to mind.

I love Claudia but I think it means lame or something similar which puts me off a bit.

Still a better name than Saskia imo.

If I were you I'd have trouble deciding too. I can't decide. I would (honestly) have to see the baby and then decide. If I had to make a choice I would chose Saskia.... only thing is written down I keep seeing Kia (as in the make of car). Claudia sounds very sophisticated!

I love both. I know two Claudias but never met a Saskia.

I like them both. To me they're quite sophisticated names.

They are two of my most favourite names but Claudia is my overriding favourite

Absolutely Saskia. (1horatio, it's a short 'a' in Saskia as pronounced by a typical Brit (and a German too tbh), sounds nothing like the a in swastika). It's strong, cool, elegant, phonetic, not overused and goes well with Naomi. Claudia will get different pronunciations in different parts of the world and tbh doesn't have a great meaning.

JingsAndCrivens · 15/05/2016 18:33

The meaning of Claudia wouldn't bother me at all. I mean doesn't Cecilia mean 'blind'? And isn't Amelia the name of some disease or other?

Report
1horatio · 15/05/2016 18:50

HeteronormativeHaybales, the syllables are bit different, yes. But the last A is the same, tbh.

It's obviously just my personal opinion. And yes, German is my first language.
But seeing as this apparently isn't an issue in England: Saskia is really lovely.

I like both but I think I like Saskia slightly better with Naomi.

All three very beautiful and sophisticated names, imo. All three on my girls' names list for future. I'd struggle to choose between S and C. Maybe marginally Saskia.

As we clearly have very similar names, and I'm expecting a boy, may I ask what would have been on your boys' names list?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/05/2016 19:55

Ooh either.

If my life expended on it, Claudia.

Very similar taste, I mean
