Argh

Pregnant with number 3, we have a boy and a girl already (think series about a blood splatter analyst seriel killer based in Florida who only kills bad guys, and Kayne wests' wife!) The sex will be a suprise until birth so need a name for both.

Last pregnancy we only really had a girls name, I hated his boys (Jackson but he wanted it spelt Jaxon) name but agreed it to stop the round and round conversation and thought that if baby was a boy I'll tell him were not naming him that.

I told him the girls names I liked and he's totally dismissed them all:

Edith and Aubrey: old granny
Talulah and Delilah: horrendous
Georgia: boring
Erin: rubbish

I have a feeling he's going to be like this with everything I suggest as our daughters name was one I suggested (he agreed) but because I suggested it he takes that as me choosing her name.

What other names could anyone suggest? Hes the bearded/tattooed/motorbike riding/body building type so would like more 'out there' type stuff.

What names does he suggest?

Make two separate lists (blind). See if any match or are similar. Cross from each other's lists the ones you don't like (but leave at least 3). Randomly pick from the at least 6 left.

Or decide when the baby is born what name suits best.

He says he hasn't really thought too much yet but did suggest Harley for a girl a few weeks ago (I'm not keen!) that's a really good idea though! I'll get him to put some lists together soon

Oh if only I had free reign to name my children! My son would definitly have been a Hector

Agree with Lweji.

When I was pregnant with DD, I found a website with hundreds of names in a sort of checklist. You ticked all the ones you liked, then sent it to your partner, who did the same (they can't see your list), and it showed you all the ones you both liked. I'm fairly sure it was 'love', 'like', 'don't like', so you got quite a few results back.

I'm just looking to see if I saved it but apparently not. We'd already chosen DD's name but it was very interesting! If I find the link I'll post it.

Ah! I don't think this is exactly the same one we used, but it's the same idea:

Named Together.

Isn't Aubrey a boy's name? Or did you mean Audrey?

I like that they put "Baby Names from England & Wales" in one list, on that site.

Clearly, they ignore all the arguments about different Welsh spellings on MN. Grin

Aubrey is more commonly used as a girl's name now, SleepyRoo I love it - though don't like Audrey for some reason.

It's difficult to suggest names as the vetoed list is quite varied and I didn't get the clues for your existing children's names. I like Aubrey, Erin and Harley from the names you mention

Um ...
names like Edith:
Agnes, Connie, Dora, Esme, Elsie, Flora, Freda, Hazel, Ida, Josie, Lily, Mary, Martha, Maisy, Mabel, Maude, Nancy, Nellie, Olive, Pearl, Peggy, Ruby, Tilly, Una, Vera

names like Talullah:
Aurora, Cassandra, Devora, Fionnhuala, Kimberly, Leona, Leandra, Lavinia, Marina, Marissa, Ophelia, Paloma, Ramona, Selena, Serena, Tamika, Tabitha, Tanisha, Tiana, Vanessa, Xenia

names like Georgia, Delilah and Erin:

Vincent or Franklin for a boy?

I had a few of your girls names on my list, we went for Sylvie in the end but also liked Margot, Cecilia, Lucille, Sadie, Daphne. Sadie would go nicely with your older kids names.
