All very hypothetical atm.

Girls:

Clover
Fearne
Robyn
Wren
Star (I know everyone hates this but I still love it)

Boys:

Flint
Star (I quite like this for a boy - think DH would veto though)
River (I love this but can't use it due to my surname being the name of a river)!
Robin

I love Clover. And Fern and Robin but not keen on your spellings, sorry.

If I had a daughter (which I won't) I'd call her Sunshine.

I love Robin for a boy and Hazel for a girl

I love Robin too. Do you think it would get shortened to Rob though? I don't hate Rob as a nn, just not all that keen.

I love Marigold for a girl.

And Colt for a boy.

Fearne is ok. The boys 'names' are hideous, particularly Flint. Please say you wouldn't really do that to a child.

Really like Iris and Hazel.

Other suggestions:
Aster
Ivy
Tansy
Autumn
Summer

Or something with a nature 'meaning'? e.g. Elowen (elm in Cornish) or Eira (snow in Welsh)

I really like all of them except Fearne (no real hatred, just not keen), Star for a boy (do like it for a girl, not sure why I think there's a difference) and Flint (sounds like Clint and makes me think of a big, tough American guy).

From other suggestions, I love Saffron, Tansy, Ivy Iris, Sage, Sorrel, Ember and Juniper.

I think nature names work better for girls but love Rowan, River and Robin for boys.

Can't think of much that hasn't been suggested.

Some lovely suggestions thank you. Smile

Yes, I think it's true that nature names work a little better for girls than boys. I really liked Flint, but am not keen on Clint and they do sound very similar. It's a shame we couldn't use River as I like it too.

Sorrell

I saw it today and thought it was lovely

Rio means river in Spanish?

Report
LadyAntonella · 04/05/2016 19:36

Yes Sorrell is lovely (was on my list for DD actually). Rio is a good suggestion. That could be quite cool. But would people think "...and she dances on the sand"?

I like Sorrel but it sounds a bit too much like sorrow for me.
