Ok so I like unusual names so if you don't you won't like any of these. I know that our name choices are very marmite.

I am pregnant with ds4 and this time around we are really struggling. So far we have an Evan, Clayton & Teddy.

Names we like are:
Bowie
Rafferty
Albie
Tate

Today we had FIL and DHs step mum over for dinner. We spoke about names and she said her dad was called Monty. I quite like it although our surname starts with an M but I think it goes well. I know that people may say about the dog thing but I get that with my son Teddy anyway. What do you think?

me personally I think Albie is the best out of those! Tate always makes me think of the Tate family who use to be in emmerdale 😆, and the other two are a bit sickly (again in my opinion)

I love Rafferty!

Bowie is quite cool too (are you a big David Bowie fan)?

Albie I love as a nn for Albert.

Not keen on Monty or Tate.

Like Teddy as a nn for Theodore or Edward.

I like them all, but like Monty the most.

I love Albie. Smile would have used this if I had a boy

Don't think Monty is a dog name. Only one I know is a child! Love Evan. Don't like Bowie much, just a bit too...I dunno, try hard, in memoriam-ish (morbid)...but I like the rest.

I prefer Tate from those you have listed.

I think with Albie you'd need Albert on the BC as Albie might be a bit babyish once he's a teen/adult.

Bowie is ok if you're a fan but I think it would annoy me with the two different pronunciations (some people say bow as in crossbow and some say it as in take a bow.

Ah thank you so much for all the replies. Massive Bowie fan and its DHs fave but as much as I like a different name I don't want the boy to be teased.

Glad to see some good reactions to Monty. We really like it I've never heard it before and those are the types of names I love. I think it goes quite well with his brothers name Teddy. I don't have to call out to the older boys much as they are 11 & 9 so mostly play computer games/board games/read in their stinky bedrooms Grin

I think Rafferty goes best with your sons names

Anymore opinions it's so close that I still don't know which one to go for. DH keeps changing his mind two. It's difficult having 4 of the same sex when it comes to names aargh

I wouldn't go for Bowie. I don't know about other people but I spend his entire life unsure how to pronounce it, and hearing different pronunciations on the radio.
