This is for a middle name. I had decided on Grey, but now I don't know if I'm brave enough Sad is Finn a lot nicer?

Finn is lovely. Think Grey got ruined by that flipping book Confused

Grey is more of a colour than a name though isn't it?

What's the Christian first name?

Arf at Christian!

I prefer Finn, it's a lovely name, but as it's 'just' a middle name I think either would do. Perhaps choose whichever goes with your other names, first & surname etc. You could have 2x middle names.

Finn.

I like them both. But Finn is SO common and over-used.

Grey is much better and I don't think anyone would associate it with the shit book.

Grey is such a bland nothing colour though, isn't it?

Also means dull and uninteresting.

It would be like calling your child Beige. Doesn't have positive connotations at all for me. And that's without considering the 50 shades stuff.

Grey is lovely and I know a few little Finns but no Greys, so id go for Grey.

Grey sounds like it is short for graham

The first name is Elliot, I know it's a bland colour, but I think of it as being a mysterious name!

Grey wouldn't seem like it's short for anything, as it's the middle name!

I really like Elliot Grey.

Elliot Finn doesn't flow quite so well.

Elliot is very nice OP.

But what if his pals call him Ell? Is Ell Grey a great idea? Smile

After 50 shades the Grey would be out for me.
Elliot Finn is not quite right though. What about Elliot Finlay?

Elliot Grayson?

I loooooove Grey. Finn is too common.
Go with Grey. If it wasn't for that book, I would have. But unfortunately my surname is also a noun, and grey with it just sounds way too much like a kinky thing.

Elliot Grey flows much better than Elliot Finn, depends on the surname too, how many syllables?

I'm all for non-name middle names, my DS' middle name is Kingdom, and my Nephew's is Implacable (outs self).

I quite like an out there middle name.

Maybe go wilder than Grey!

I like Elliot Finn - it's like huckleberry Finn.

LittleBoyDue · 23/04/2016 21:33

Last name is 2 syllables

You do know that Elliot Grey was Christians brother In the book?

Fine if it doesn't bother you but just thought I'd mention. I actually love the name Grey.

Oh was he? You have to presume that most people do not know that Christian Grey's brother was Elliot though because they have better literary taste, and those who do...do you care?

Finn is much nicer.
