Rose or Phoebe?

Hello!

DD1 is due in a couple of weeks and DH and I can't quite decide on a name for her! We both love Phoebe and Rose (would probably end up being 'Rosie') but I'm just not sure! I also really like Margot but DH has vetoed, likewise I vetoed his suggestion of Emily.

Also can anyone suggest similar names that we may have overlooked? Middle name will be Emilia after DH grandmother, surname is 2 syllables.

Thankyou Smile

Phoebe.

I find Rose a bit dull, tbh.

I like phoebe.
I suggest: Imogen, Iris, Marcella, Mabel.

Ooh Mabel is nice. Have a feeling DH won't agree though!

Well you could hardly have had Emily Emilia or was Emily instead of using Emilia as a MN.
I was going to say Rose, but Rose Emilia doesn't really flow. Emilia Rose does though. If you're up for turning the name around.
Phoebe Rose goes lovely though even though. I do prefer Rose.
I think it's because. Rose is gorgeous and fits with most names as a MN but not a lot of fns go with Rose as MN. IYSWIM.

Haha, yes that's exactly why I vetoed it! Don't think he actually says the full name to himself, just more like 'ooh this name is pretty' haha.

My DD is Phoebe Rose. I think it's pretty, slightly unusual but not out there!!

Definitely Rose. Not keen on Phoebe at all, it makes me think of the word 'feeble'.

Rose is such a lovely name and I love Rosie too! DH vetoed Sad but it's so nice.

Rose Emilia is perfect!

Phoebe Emilia is an excellent name.

Phoebe - really hate the look of it! Not sure if it's the 'Ph' or the 'oe'!? Makes me think of amoeba for some strange reason!

Rose is a bit too safe imo. Rosie or Rosa cute though.

Thankyou everyone! I think we are leaning towards phoebe now... That is of course unless she looks likes a Rosie when she arrives Wink

I love phoebe!
Rose is pretty but does also seem to be a go-to middle name at the moment. It sounds really nice as a middle name so I guess that's why... But I would go for something a little less common.
Plus phoebe from "friends" was my favourite.

NO! Please don't lean towards Phoebe! Rose is lovely and not common for a first name!

Love Rosa, btw. Just not Rose (staid, dated) or Rosie (twee).

Rose definitely over Phoebe which I also find sounds like feeble.

Rose.
Like a pp said, Phoebe reminds me of amoeba. Don't know why!

Have them both, Phoebe Rose, this is lovely.
