Baby names

Is this too similar?

Children and called Charlie (boy) and Tilly (full names).

Could we use Lottie for a girl?

I know it's a short form of Charlotte and Charlotte is the female version of Charles...but as my children are the nicknames of the formal name, would it work?

Or do they all sound very cutesy?

I wouldn't have Charlie and Lottie as siblings

I wouldn't. To my ear they do sound cutesy, although I do like Lottie.

But Charlie and Lottie are both the same name so no.

I would think that the parents weren unaware that lottie was short for Charlotte. I think that wouldn't give a good impression of your curiosity, research skills and general intellect :-P

What about Lettie? Short Claudette or something? or Juliette?

You can't have a Charles and Charlotte!

If I heard you talk about Charlie and then later heard you talk about Lottie I would assume you had multiple nicknames for the same child.

Yeah I would also assume same child.

I'm pretty sure this exact same post came up a while ago? In any case, they are too similar, I would also assume Charlie and Lottie were the same child.

There was indeed a very similar thread recently, yes.

Yes, I did think that's what most people would think. My sister suggested the name Lottie - I was unsure as I made the connection about them being nicknames for similar names but she didn't.
Potteringalong- He's not Charles he is Charlie and I wouldn't have used Charlotte just Lottie.
Shame as it is a pretty name. Thank you for opinions :)

How about Annie instead?

You have asked the same thing before and almost everyone said NO.

I heard a Charlie, tilly and Annie Sibset before.

This OP almost certainly wasn't the OP of that thread Vixx. Here.

Vixxfacee - gosh did I? Sorry... my pregnancy brain, didn't realise I had posted (I do post a lot). I saw the thread with the names Charles and Charlotte-could it be that one?
Just wish there was a name I (we) could decide on :(

I love Annie (always have. The film Annie was my favourite when I was a little girl) DH said no...really wish I could convince him. Not really keen on any longer Annie type names, just love Annie. I also know an adult Annie (parent of one of the children I teach) and she says she loves her name and has had no problems or teasing with it.
DH choose Tilly's name, so maybe I could choose baby 3 name (although he has to at least like the name...maybe my hormones will kick in and I will cry! ;)

Think my problem is I am looking for a nice uncommon name, being a teacher I associate names with the children I have taught.
