From my dd's class, there are children with names I have never heard of including:

Nilufahr
Tauryn
Cordiana (I love this)

I presume some of it is cultural - so these names might be normal to people who grew up in the place these parents are from. I am Irish and there are names (including my daughter's) which would be unique to non-Irish people but most Irish people, particularly those from a particular area, would know one or two with the name (e.g. Nessan, Ademar, Garvan etc)

Was just posting on the fairy names thread that I was absolutely set on calling DD2 Pebbles when preg.

Husband point blank refused, but subsequently admitted it would have been perfect for her now she has a personality. Not a name I've really heard (except from the obvious)

Pebbles is cute but my partner wouldn't let me either! I like Luna for a girl and I no it's not that unusual but rocky I quite like for a boy. Name well that kinda speaks for itself
