MONDAY BIRTH AND NO NAME!!

I really want our baby to have a name when they arive. For a girl:
My list: Flora Opal, Bianca Rylee, Naomi Samantha, Tessa Chloe
DH's list: Flora Clementine, Alexandra Charlotte, Ruby Eden, Josie Hayden, Paloma Rachel, Liliana Faith, Cameron Athena, Summer Brynn, Scarlett Brooke, Valentina Lila, Amelia Jasmine, Phoebe Isis, Fiona Belle and Leia Vivienne.
As you can see, he has way more names than I do and is ultimately a name freak!
I think we may end up going with Flora as we both love it but we still wouldn't have a middle name.
For a boy:
My list: Timothy David, Tanner Daniel, Camden Luca, Ezekiel Porter, Nicholas Jake, Christopher Desmond, Ezra Jordan, Howard James, Alistair Dominic.
DH's list: Micah Cedric, Isaac Jacob, Jonah Clark, Angel Gordon, Everett Dean, Declan Alexander, Edmund Grant, Malachi Benjamin, Dale Oscar, Jeremiah Hector, Hector Jeremy, Isaiah Sebastian, Reed Zachary Ryan, Emmett Drake, Carson Charles and Victor Douglas.
We think we have way too many Biblical names on the boy lists for atheists so are cautious about that.
Our son's name is Miles Nathaniel. Surname is Hunter. Please pick three names for a boy and three names for a girl. No mixing and matching and pick your favourites!
Thanks Smile

I don't understand how every first name has a different middle Confused

Love Flora Clementine! Fiona Belle and Alexandra Charlotte.

Emmett Drake, Nicholas Jake and Declan Alexander

Because those are the only combinations we like.

Declan Alexander, Isaac Jacob, Ezra Jordan

Couple of asides, I think Hector Hunter is horrible, and Victor Douglas is a VD Hunter...

Cameron Athena (which I LOVE), Amelia Jasmine, Phoebe Isis.

I like Flora Clementine more then Flora Opal (I don't like the two vowel sounds when said together)

I know you said no mix and match and they are the only combinations you like, but I think a bit of mixing MNs and FNs might lead to something you both agree on... There are A LOT of different names in your post, which leaves a lot of room for compromise.

Nope I still don't get it
If you like a name you like it, you don't only like it when paired with another one
There is no way you can like all of those names, that is just bizarre
Find a first name you both like, find a middle name you both like, put them both together and you're done

I agree with NoCapes, it's a very odd way to make a shortlist.

I think your first and middle combinations are overly fussy and elaborate. I mean, lots of your first names are very nice, but the effect is wrecked by an elaborate or lengthy middle name tacked on, which sounds rather stagey. And some of them really don't work together at all - Valentina Lila sounds odd because the same letter is pronounced as different sounds, and Amelia Jasmine is too 'ee' ish, just as Flora Opal is too repetitively 'o' ish. And Hector Hunter doesn't work at all!

I'm not suggesting you do the dull thing and stick May or Rose or the male equivalent in as a middle name, but there's a reason why many elaborate or long first names are paired with something short and simple.

You have far better taste than your husband in general (Fiona Belle is particularly bad - and Scarlett Brooke and Summer Brynn scream 'Mills and Boon heroine)though your 'Rylee' with Bianca is a blip. Why not Riley?

Flora [with something other than Opal] or Tessa Chloe [though I would have the middle name not ending with another vowel]

Nicholas Jake or Declan Alexander.

You'd have a lot of lovely names there if you left out the middle name suggestions. Love Naomi and Malachi. Are you Irish ?

Flora Belle is very cute, if it's a girl you'd have a pretty flower 😊

I would forget about the middle names for now. does anyone bother with them?

The list is very strange ideed. Such a mix from Declan and Fiona which are older and dated to really unusual names.

I was going to go for Emmet for a boy and think you may as well go for Flora if you both like it.

If you really cannot decide why not use April as a middle name?

My FIL is Irish. My husband has strong opinions on names. He isn't too bothered about heritage choices himself despite having an Irish name. Every first name has a different middle because we set out names that we liked. Then both of us eliminated some truly horrible ones. Then we picked out some middle names we liked and eliminated the ones each of us hated. When both of our lists were reviewed by each other, we chose from the remaining names some combinations. It may seem a strange way but we're panicking! The baby is due on Monday! HELP PLEASE!

We would preferably like something that has a cute nickname with it because Miles can shorten to Milo occasionally.

April is a nice idea but DH calls it dated.

For girls, sorry OP, I don't like anything on your list.

In particular: Flora Opal is hideous. Too many vowels and Flora margarine and Opal Fruit sweets come to mind. Not a good combo for a name.

From DH's list, Alexandra Charlotte is the best. You CANNOT go wrong with two such beautiful, classic names.

After that Amelia Jasmine but don't like the other combos and as other posters say, some are awful, particularly Summer Brynn and Fiona Belle.

Boys:

Your list:
Timothy David
Howard James
Alistair Dominic

DH's list
Declan Alexander
Nicholas Jake (Jacob would work better)
Emmett Drake

PLEASE call a girl Alexandra Charlotte

I agree it's not a mad dash to find 2 first names that "go". Unless you're honouring a relative middle names are meaningless. Vivienne is the only name I like in that list.

I'm sorry but that is a ridiculous amount of names to process! Are you really trying to whittle your lists downs to agreeing on something? Seems like you're in competition to see who can come up with the most combinations. Don't get me wrong, I'm partial to an unusal name but this seems way OTT!

I like: Valentina, Scarlet and Brooke. Plus Luca and Ezra from your boys list.

I'd say as you both love Flora you're half way there on the girl front!

Good luck!
