Opinions on the name Meadow?

I'm due a daughter soon. I'm looking for something a bit unusual, but still pretty sounding.

I came across the name Meadow - what do you think?

Sounds like a surname or end of a street name. A bit alternative for me for a baby name, but if that's what you're looking for maybe it's fine.

I like it, I know a little girl called Meadow Bee which I think is taking it a bit far but Meadow is sweet.

I think it's lovely. I don't know her, but I know of a Meadow. She'd be about 16/17, now.

As a word, I think it sounds quite nice. But bear in mind what she will think of it when she is grown up and wanting to be taken seriously in her field (sorry)- how will she feel about having such an unusual name then? What will the name Meadow look like on a door plaque/side of a van/news article header/business card?

When I lived in Canada a family I worked for had a little girl called Meadow. I was a bit at the time, but no one batted an eye lid there. I later found out it is the name of one of the cast of the Sopranos, so perhaps that is why? It's actually quite pretty, but be prepared for lots of looks!

I'm not sure on the shortening... I feel like it'll be Meads... That reminds me of medication, though.
