Noah: nice or chavy name?

We are trying to decide on a name for our baby boy. We both like and agree on Noah. I know it is really common. Is it a bit chavy now?

I think it's a lovely name. I wouldn't say it's 'chavvy' at all

I don't think it's chavvy, but I don't like it.

Great name, but suggest avoiding alliteration, eg Noah Norris

Nice enough (not chavvy) but a bit Biblical for me (not a Christian) but if you are then fine :-)

Thanks. It's such a big decision deciding on a name.

I think it has slightly lost its biblical feel! Not in a bad way.

I love it.

I do like it but there was a really rough family at my son's primary school (he's now Yr 11 so going back a bit now, the daughter of the family bullied my son) and they had a Noah although I don't think it's a chavvy name, just a popular one.

How can Noah be a 'chavvy' name?Confused

And aren't you lovely OP.

It's totally overused now. Just like Finn God knows why

JoJoS123 · 27/03/2016 16:19

Finn is my son's middle name.

Noah and Finn are nice names, which is why they popular.

Report
JoJoS123 · 27/03/2016 16:23

Well, Finley is his middle name.

I think it's lovely, Noah is too. Honestly, if they're popular and you're confused why, you're probably the odd one Wink

Yes. Noah and Finn are nice names and they fit the single syllable fashion for boy's names. They'll date, probably, but that's not a terrible thing. It's not like all the middle aged men called Mark or David or Peter go around hating their names.

Lovely name just far too popular for me now!

I love the name Noah, it's on my list x

I've heard it called chavvy on here along with Jacob Ethan Finn but it's a lovely name in my opinion and I only know of very nice Noahs

BettyBi0 · 29/03/2016 06:53

I don't think it's chavvy at all. Very common though. Is that the same thing? I mean there are loads of them rather than a class thing.

Love this name. If my daughter had been a boy we would of had Noah as a name x

It has become rather overused recently,

It's not chavvy but it's my single most hated boys name. I just don't get the appeal at all. It sounds like a strained protest!

Noah, as well as building the ark , disgraced himself when old by getting drunk and appearing naked in front of his children. I didn't know that when I chose Noah so thought i would share. I still like it though.

It's nice enough and I wouldn't consider it chavvy. It's popular which often gets a bad reception on here but hey, it's popular because lots of people like it!
