Boys names to go with Henry

Hi all,

I am struggling a little with boys names that go with Henry(our DS). The issue we have is a lot of traditional names have already been used by close family members or friends.

We like William (but William and Henry are the Windsor names, not sure if this week seem too silly), and DH also likes Albert but I'm not too sure.

We can't use:
George
Charles
Thomas
Edward
Matthew.

Do anyone have any ideas?

I know Henry's with brothers James, Oliver or Noah.

I think you can go either very traditional and royal ie William or slightly more modern ie Jude, Leo.

It works well with most names I think.

I have to say all those choices are rather dull! They are solid but dull names.Albert sounds like an old man

Some lovely suggestions have been made above
Alexander
Maximilian
Luca/s OR Luke
Malachi

Henry and Louis is lovely!

Thanks for the suggestions all. I do like Louis but DH isn't so keen.

Something that really grinds my gears is when people call names 'old man or old woman names' . We are not little children forever, and spend most of our lives as adults. Whatevs mind, each to their own. If we all liked the same stuff the Earth would be pretty boring.

If you agree on William and can't agree on anything else it looks like a front runner.
Have you looked at your family trees? A boy's name might catch your eye.

Ah, Henry and Louis is lovely. However, as you can't use it/love William, go with William! I don't think it matters... It's a nice name Smile

The only Henry I know has a brother call Andrew. I quite like that!

I like Henry and Daniel personally. Or perhaps Henry and Joshua!

Henry and William is a great combination and royalty wise most people know Henry as Harry. I also like James and Edward. I have a Henry but would have struggled to find a boys name that I loved as much. Thankfully my Henry has three sisters. Have fun choosing!

I have a Henry (11) and a Frederick (9) who we call Freddie. So I think that's the perfect combination Grin
Both are the only ones in their year groups actually, though I think they are more popular now.

Use William Smile it's a nice name!

It's a shame about Louis - Henry and Louis is perfect!

Other suggestions:

  • Elliot(t)
  • Oliver
  • Matthew
