What are your thoughts ?
I'm quite traditional so like Benjamin but love the quirkiness of Beau. My DH thinks it's too girlie.
I'd love to go Beau Benjamin but he would defo never agree to that Smile

Benjamin is lovely, but I'm with your DH, Beau is awful IMO.

Wow, Beau sure is popular on Mumsnet at the moment! I don't think it's girly at all, and how often do you use your middle name, anyway?

Yeah I kinda thought the same about middle name. Only I'll use it. Everyone else will use Benjamin. My eldest has the nickname Boo (monsters inc) so I hoped this would be a way of incorporating the same theme. Boo and Beau my beautiful boys. (Eldest will not let anyone but me call him Boo so its a home thing really).
I know my DH family will hate it. But it feels like it would be something all for me (selfish right)? Boys names are so difficult!!!! (Eldest is Fletcher btw) thanks for comments.

I agree with pp that Benjamin is lovely but Beau is, well, a bit silly somehow and quite faddy at the moment. And the two names together, Benjamin Beau, sounds like a character in a nursery rhyme or something.

Just my opinion. There are a lot of worse options you could have chosen though!

I really like Beau in the middle name spot. Benjamin is nice but, as you've said, it's very safe. I do know an awful lot of Bens. Nothing wrong with that at all, classics are popular for a reason - but I like the idea of individualizing it a little with a quirky and fun middle name with personal meaning. And Beau is by no means totally 'out there', you could even use his middle name Beau as a kind of nn for Benjamin while he is a baby/within the family, if you really love it.
