Hi, we are struggling to name our 3 day old boy, he has a sister called Lara (we do like a slightly unusual / uncommon name) and would really appreciate people's opinions on your favourite name from this list;

Austin
Ellis
Ellison
Daniel

Ellis is really popular.
Ellison is more if a surname and would get called Ellis
Austin I don't like.

I love Daniel - underused these days.

Another one for Daniei. Nice soft-sounding name and Danny is a nice shortening- one of my favourite childhood books was Danny Champion of the World!

Ellis, I know a gorgeous baby Ellis and he's the sweetest little thing! I think the name may have broken into the top 100 but it's in no way popular (in terms of across the UK) although I know with any name, there can be pockets of the country where they are used more. I think all your names are lovely but in my opinion, Ellis definitely tops the list x

Austin or Ellis.
Both established yet not too popular .

Daniel is a bit dull.
Ellison sounds like Alison.

For those saying Ellis is not popular I am a teacher at a school with 1,000 pupils - there is an Ellis in almost every class - I have 3 in my year 7 class.

Daniel. Ellis is bearable. The others are awful.

Ellis is my favourite.

I really, really hate the name Daniel, although Dan isn't so bad I suppose.

Love Ellis! Great name. I had no idea it was popular. Slightly prefer to Ellison which sounds too much like Alison to me. I quite like Austin but for some reason it always sounds a bit cheesy to me - Brings to mind Austin Powers or the sports car. Yes, Daniel is a bit dull / babies of the 70's.

Austin. I like Daniel but if you want an uncommon name it's too mainstream, as are the others.
