I've always loved this name, but rarely hear it nowadays... Is it awful?

Sunshine511 Fri 22-Jan-16 08:22:03

I love it!!! Wanted to use it myself (long story) but unfortunately I couldn't! I think it's a gorgeous, elegant name x

StealthPolarBear Fri 22-Jan-16 08:22:05

Well I'd day it's very much associated with one lady. Up to you if that's a positive or negative

RJnomore1 Fri 22-Jan-16 08:25:37

I prefer camille myself.

PooDogMillionaire Fri 22-Jan-16 08:26:00

Haha, Parker-Bowles I'm assuming wink

Borninthe60s Fri 22-Jan-16 08:31:37

Lovely and unusual. But yes people will refer to CB-P but she will be long gone by the time your daughter is an adult!

Catpants123 Fri 22-Jan-16 08:32:50

I like it, very pretty. Never met one in real life (but two Camilles.)

Only1scoop Fri 22-Jan-16 08:33:18

Very classic

I like it

Lovely name. It's a known name, but not over-used / too popular at all. Also quite timeless, you wouldn't be able to date a Camilla to a particular decade.

I like it.
Classic

It's a pretty name. I think of Camilla Long the comedian.

iciclewinter Fri 22-Jan-16 09:56:10

Oops, she isn't a comedian, she's a journalist but appears on entertainment programmes like HIGNFY.

PicnicPie Fri 22-Jan-16 10:06:47

I love it. I think of Millie Mackintosh. Made in Chelsea and heir to Quality Street fortune? I.e. beautiful and rich smile

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant Fri 22-Jan-16 10:20:30

I have never been fond of the name, but the camilla I know is pretty, kind and generally lovely.

Lucked Fri 22-Jan-16 10:25:27

CPB might not be long gone! She might be the Princess Consort of the king and have a higher public profile. Her public profile will depend on how long Prince Charles lives I suppose.

Despite that I would use the name, it is lovely and I prefer it to Camille

Alisvolatpropiis Fri 22-Jan-16 11:18:21

I love it and think it is far nicer than Camille.

wigglesrock Fri 22-Jan-16 11:29:44

I absolutely love it, was always one of my favourites. I think it's a beautiful name.

Lizziedripping1 Fri 22-Jan-16 11:56:02

Hugely popular amongst the public school kids in my area, still heavily used on some areas of society.

I do think Camille is a lovely alternative and softer sounding

MitzyLeFrouf Fri 22-Jan-16 12:02:13

It reminds me of that Camilla.

And of Pamelaaaaaa from Gavin and Stacey. She has an obsession with Charles and Camilla and likes Mick to call her Camilla at 'romantic' moments.

nellyflora Fri 22-Jan-16 12:41:12

Was on my list. DH couldn't get past CPB nor could my mother ( they went to school together unfortunately)

TheDowagerCuntess Fri 22-Jan-16 22:18:34

I wouldn't worry about CPB. You call a baby/person a name, and they become the association to everyone important around them.

MamaLazarou Sat 23-Jan-16 09:25:33

I think it's beautiful.

Queenbean Sat 23-Jan-16 09:27:06

I love the name

Would the nickname be Millie though? There seem to be millions of those around

CaptainWarbeck Sat 23-Jan-16 09:53:49

I love it too. Agree that when she is grown up CPB won't be such a popular reference.

LadyLuck81 Sat 23-Jan-16 10:27:20

I've a cousin called Camilla. We shorten it to Cam. Lovely name.
