Hi,

We are due to have our second baby in May and already have a little boy called Austin. I have more names for a girl (I have a hunch) but really struggle for boys names. What are your thoughts on the following?

Boys

Henry
Theo

Girls

Una
Sienna
Nina
Iris
Thea (Theodora or Anthea)
Sylvia (Sylvia)
Ailish
Aislin

I think I'd like a name beginning with a vowel as I think it goes nicely with Austin. I love Isla but can't use it.

I like both Henry and Theo (I'd use Theodore as full name). I like Nina and Sylvia from the girls list.

Edward
James
Isaac
Ethan

Laura
Anna
Olivia
Ella

Yes Theodore would be full name. Sylvie and Nina are my favourite girl names at the moment.

I love Nina for a girl! Would have used it myself but there's already one in the family!

I love Theodore and had considered it for this baby if it's a boy, but I think it's becoming too popular for my liking. Theodore, Theo and Teddy are all very high in the rankings so imagine how many there are if you count all 3 names. For that reason, I'll vote Henry, which I think is also a lovely, yet not too popular name x

I love Theo and Henry equally and considered both for DC3 (who turned out to be a girl). Not helpful, I know.

Love love love Sylvie, but Aisling (pretty sure it has a g on the end) is also lovely and Austin and Aisling is too cute to pass up! Grin

I know an Austin and a Coco and an Austin and a Harriet.

Theo and Henry are both fine, but there are loads of Theos around at the moment, so I would opt for Henry as a more timeless classic.

Out of your girls list, I love Sylvia and quite like Nina

Have fun deciding!

Henry and Theodore are both lovely.

Anthea, Iris and Sylvia are my favourites from your girl's list. And Nina, which we had on our shortlist but had to drop because DS calls fire engines nee-nahs.

Agree with PP re Aislin - I have only ever seen it as Aisling.

Love, love, love Ailish! Such a pretty name - uncommon yet easy to pronounce. Brilliant.

Yeah I love Ailish but DH is a bit Hmm Current girl favourite is Sylvia but I'm a tad worried it might become uber popular....

I taught in a school with a girl named Aislinn - two 'n's - and yes I thought about the 'g' too. So many spellings for some names!

As for boys, yes I think Henry is a solid favourite, classic and massively underused where we are Smile

Love Theo, but am biased ....lots of Henry's here so not so keen... Know a couple of Milos as well....

Going with the vowel start...
Elliott
Edward (can also be Ted/Teddy)
Isaac
Inigo
Otto

In your girls list really like Iris and Sylvia both really classic ...
