What's the verdict on Oran/Òran? We're in Scotland, Gaelic speaking (see username!) with Irish family on both sides. We would pronounce it 'awr-an'. We wouldn't be using it as an anglicisation, we like that it's Scottish Gaelic for 'song' (with the accent), but I like Òdhran too. The latter could be confusing in spelling I suppose, but that's not a big worry for me. I've got ages to ponder names, so this is a first attempt (mind you, ds1 has a very traditional Celtic name that we picked straight away...) [smile]
