Nice name for a boy, no?

RedToothBrush Fri 21-Aug-15 14:04:48

No its a giraffe's name.

(and yes I know what Jeffrey is about but prefer my innocence).

PotteringAlong Fri 21-Aug-15 14:06:11

I'd spell it Geoffrey.

iamaboveandBeyond Fri 21-Aug-15 14:07:08

Oo, good point

"There's millions of jeffreys all under one roof"

PotteringAlong Fri 21-Aug-15 14:08:12

grin

RedToothBrush Fri 21-Aug-15 16:10:29

fattymcfatfat Fri 21-Aug-15 16:15:22

Jeffrey/Geoffrey is a grower.

It started out as a "joke name" when I was expecting DS. "Imagine a baby called JEFF?!" and is now a serious contender for DC2 ...

So, yes, love it.

I've always said that I cN't imagine cooing into a crib at a baby called Jeffrey (so Derek, Ian and Neil), although I appreciate that old gents with these names were once babies. grin

Jeffrey is SO due a revival - unusual, but not made up; will suit a baby and the grown man; and think of all the role models: Jeffrey Dahmer, Jeffrey Archer… grin

For the record, I know a Jeffrey, aged about 45, who is very lovely.

iamaboveandBeyond Sat 22-Aug-15 09:54:56

grin at Jeffrey archer

CheekyMaleekey Sat 22-Aug-15 10:03:12

Awful.

SmugairleRoin Sun 23-Aug-15 02:07:36

Makes me think of that little bastard Joffrey from GOT. I don't see it being a long lasting reference But it has ruined the name for me...so purely on that it's a no from me! grin

Stompylongnose Sun 23-Aug-15 03:13:11

As long as you haven't got a Rod, Jane, Freddy, Bungle or Zippy in the family...

MamaLazarou Mon 24-Aug-15 11:52:33

Gives me a Pixies earworm -not a bad thing.

RevsDeCub Mon 24-Aug-15 11:54:56

My bump was Jeff until we found out the sex. Although, it's more our stupid sense of humour as the pregnancy pillow was Dave...

NoMontagues Mon 24-Aug-15 13:36:13

mama but isn't that Jefrey with one F?

Jef - rey!

<cries for lost youth>

EmmaWoodlouse Thu 27-Aug-15 19:59:47

I like it, although I think I slightly prefer the spelling Geoffrey, which would fit in quite well with all the "old-fashioned English" names that have become popular again like George, Harry etc.

MistressMerryWeather Fri 28-Aug-15 08:54:40

I love it. wink
