My daughter's name is Luchia, pronounced Lu CHEE ah. Was trying to find another boys/girls name that goes well with it. I have a few names that I like, some of them are a little different!

Boys:

Rex, Mondeo (yes, like the car, but I love it!), Lysander, Lorcan, Lorenzo (Enzo), Nathaniel, Marcus, Clarence, Cyrus, Leo,

Girls:

Ailsa, Annabelle, Belgravia, Cadence, Catherine (Kitty), Charmella (Charmie), Corvette (Vettie), Demelza, Seline, Carmine, Estelle (Essie), Petronella (but might be a bit pretentious)

Names that I like but are overused:

Maximillian (Max), Ruby, Scarlet, Lily, Evelyn (Evie)

Out of all of them my favourites are Rex, Mondeo, Ailsa and Belgravia. My daughter was originally meant to be called Ailsa as it goes well with her surname Craig. And Ailsa Craig is such a beautiful place smile

Be good if you have twins, mondeo & corvette.....

Why in the name of God did you spell your daughter's name like that? hmm The correct spelling is Lucia...
Just out of interest; how do you intend to pronounce Mondeo??

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf Fri 14-Aug-15 21:26:26

Boys:

1 - Leo
2 - Nathaniel
3 - Max (not Maximillian)
Sorry, I don't like any of the other names (especially dislike Mondeo).

Girls:

1 - Lily
2 - Evie
Again, I don't like any of the other names (especially Corvette)

Does your daughter really have a 'h' in her name?

froomeonthebroom Fri 14-Aug-15 21:27:40

This must be a joke surely?

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf Fri 14-Aug-15 21:28:51

I hope it's a joke. Most of those names are downright awful and it always seems mean to inflict one of them on a child.

CarriesBucketOfBlood Fri 14-Aug-15 21:29:22

Charmie and Vettie two of the most hilariously horrific name suggestions I have seen in quite a while.

And why did you misspell Lucia?!

Catherine and Estelle are very pretty. Essie not so much.

Wolfiefan Fri 14-Aug-15 21:30:24

Jeez! I saw that name as Lochia! And I've not even had a drink yet!!!
grin

NoArmaniNoPunani Fri 14-Aug-15 21:31:51

Charmella sounds like loo roll.

SmugairleRoin Fri 14-Aug-15 21:33:14

Corvette and Mondeo bahaha. Go for it op. If you have a few more you can name them Yaris and Toyota.

Carmine...like the beetles they crush up for making makeup colours?

Ford and Opal are decent car names. Ish.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere Fri 14-Aug-15 21:33:52

I have a family member called Lucia, pronounced loo chi ah she has siblings called Alice and felip (I may have spelt that wrong but Mediterranean Philip basically)

IlexAquifolium46 Fri 14-Aug-15 21:35:13

I didn't spell it like that, my partner chose the name and the spelling. He said in Italy it is spelled with a H sometimes. I think it's lovely, and I sometimes shorten it to Chia.

Queenbean Fri 14-Aug-15 21:35:19

Your daughters name would've been better spelt Loocheeya

YoureAllABunchOfBastards Fri 14-Aug-15 21:37:10

Mondeo, definitely.

Can't decide between Charmie and Vettie, though...

CarriesBucketOfBlood Fri 14-Aug-15 21:38:12

Chia as in the seed?

Floggingmolly Fri 14-Aug-15 21:39:30

Your DH was so, so wrong...

00100001 Fri 14-Aug-15 21:40:38

Wtf, why are people having a go at how they they spell their daughters name?

At least it won't ever get mispronounced!

Floggingmolly Fri 14-Aug-15 21:41:37

Of course it bloody well will! It looks like Luck-ia.

MirandaGoshawk Fri 14-Aug-15 21:42:44

Portia is nice (but you could spell it Porche). Kia? That's sweet. Laguna - fabulous.

Belgraviafor a girl? Hmm, it's classy but a bit old-fashioned. I think I prefer Cammy (short for Camden). Sound more modern. Kilburn for a boy.

SoupDragon Fri 14-Aug-15 21:44:05

You can't name a child Mondeo. It would be cruel.

The same goes for Belgravia.

gordonpym Fri 14-Aug-15 21:45:27

Not way. Luchia is completely misspelled.

"CH" in Italian is a /K/ sound not a soft sound. So I would have it corrected before she notices it or get comment about it when she's older.

And do you realize you just put your daughter's name AND surname in the original post?

00100001 Fri 14-Aug-15 21:46:16

Bloody hell these boards are crazy.

No-one bats an eyelid at names like Jolyon and Aurelie, but put an H in Lucia, and everyone loses their minds!

AmysTiara Fri 14-Aug-15 21:47:08

Corvette and Belgravia grin

I like Leo and Estelle from your list

IlexAquifolium46 Fri 14-Aug-15 21:47:35

Everyone really loves my daughter's name (and the spelling). It saves people mispronouncing it as Lu SEE ah or Lu SHA. Although I was asking for advice on other names not the name I have already given my daughter?...
