So, if you had to, what region would you choose to name your child, and would it be boy or a girl

Viking
North Utsire
South Utsire
Forties
Cromarty
Forth
Tyne
Dogger
Fisher
German Bight
Humber
Thames
Dover
Wight
Portland
Plymouth
Biscay
Trafalgar
FitzRoy
Sole
Lundy
Fastnet
Irish Sea
Shannon
Rockall
Malin
Hebrides
Bailey
Fair Isle
Faeroes
Southeast Iceland

I'd go for... Malin for a girl and Cromarty for a Boy Grin

I agree with you Grin

SwedishEdith · 07/07/2015 12:44

Did Fitzroy used to be Finistere? That'd work.

lovesmycake · 07/07/2015 12:48

Dover for a girl and Portland for a boy

IReallyAmHephzibah · 07/07/2015 12:50

I know someone who has done this with her three DC (yes, I am looking at you dsis!!!!)Hmm

00100001 · 07/07/2015 12:54

Cromarty for a boy. Lundy for a girl.

BlueChampagne · 07/07/2015 13:22

Went to a wedding when one of the groom's middle names was Malin.

reuset · 07/07/2015 13:24

Ok, if I had to I'd go all out and choose Southeast Iceland. Grin

reuset · 07/07/2015 13:25

Cromarty has a pleasant ring to it actually... Hmm

scandichick · 07/07/2015 13:28

Malin is a real Swedish name (for a girl, though), as is Viking - but I'd go for Fitzroy Grin

BikeRunSki · 07/07/2015 13:35

DS's nn amongst his cousins is Viking! (He is tall and blonde, lots of Celtic genes; they are tiny and dark).

I now want b/g twins called Cromarty and Malin!

BikeRunSki · 07/07/2015 13:36

Although if I called a child/pet Malin, it would be assumed I'd named them after a part of Sheffield.

SunnyBaudelaire · 07/07/2015 13:40

Sole for a girl and Wight for a boy....but seriously?

Shannon
Fitzroy
Bailey

Sophronia · 07/07/2015 14:38

Malin for a girl and Tyne or Shannon for a boy.

FraggleHair · 07/07/2015 15:30

Dogger is more suitable for an adult.

cosmicglittergirl · 07/07/2015 15:30

Forth for a boy.
Mailin for a girl.

NinjaLeprechaun · 07/07/2015 15:34

"Forth for a boy."
Only if he had three older brothers.

ElviraCondomine · 07/07/2015 15:46

Tyne for a girl, surely -for those of us old enough to have loved Cagney and Lacey.

FraggleHair · 07/07/2015 15:47

Oh I love Tyne Daly!

Mrsfrumble · 07/07/2015 16:13

Malin for a girl is actually really pretty, isn't it?

Viking for a boy. Especially if he was a redhead like DS.

BothEndsBurning · 07/07/2015 20:16

Dogger really would be rather unfortunate Grin

TheCowThatLaughs · 07/07/2015 20:27

I know someone called Malin. I always thought it was American

Finisterre. I don't care if it's not a shipping region any more, it's skeays been my favourite.

Fridgedooropen · 07/07/2015 20:37

Yes, Tyne for a girl after Tyne Daly! Would love a daughter named after a kick ass role model like Mary Beth Lacey.

Think it'd have to be Viking for a boy.

bluechameleon · 07/07/2015 21:25

Hebrides for girl and Trafalgar for a boy, Bridie and Algie for short.
