A sister for Meredith

I currently have a daughter called Meredith and I need a name for her sister, due in October.
We're a bit stuck

I like Tove but am worried that people might pronounce it wrong. We both like bonnie but I don't know if it's too twee?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. grin

Meredith is a lovely name! Not sure about Bonnie though. How about Elizabeth NN Betsy

I'm not sure about Tove. Is it pronounced like the bird Dove or like the -ove in Stove? Either way it doesn't sound like a name and is nowhere near as pretty as Meredith.

Names that fall into the same classification as Meredith in my mind include:

Verity
Juliet
Felicity
Imogen
Claudia

I have a Meredith too and the other name I considered was Elizabeth nn Betsy! Freaky! I would love Harriet too.

Astrid came to my mind when I saw Meredith

Tove is pronounced like Tova or Tuva.

Yes this is why we're struggling. DH prefers more 'normal' names like Emma. I prefer slightly more unusual names. I dot like overly girly names too like Amelia. I love Meredith as its strong yet girly. We also have a short surname (one syllable) so I don't want too short a name.

I do like Imogen Quinoa,
I will run it by DH

Sorry but Quinoa?!?!

I know 1 Bonnie, but also know several dogs named Bonnie.

Ha ha ha sorry - it's early and not had coffee, thought you meant Quinoa as a middle name!!! Will come back when I'm awake grin

WelshWereRabbit Wed 24-Jun-15 09:48:39

Bethany
Penelope
Persephone

Lol at Quinoa though we all know it will happen

Agree with you on strong not girly names and Meredith is a fab name so my faves are:

Jessica
Catherine
Francesca
Rebecca
Isobel

Catherine and Rebecca are very traditional but IMO very underused at the moment

..and Spelt for a boy sounds plausible!

Heather is nice, was on my list but had all DSs

SunHighInTheSky Wed 24-Jun-15 10:12:35

I like Jean but it is short, how about Jeannie?

I wouldn't put Bonnie with Meredith (gorgeous name btw) as they are from 2 completely different name ponds. Bonnie is cutesy and sweet where as Meredith is strong pretty and elegant and I think it's important that your subsequent child also has the gift of a name with those qualities...
How about
Vivienne
Suzannah
Georgina
Amanda
