I quite like Etta and Effie.

Is Effie short for Elizabeth? What else?

And Etta - can think of Henrietta and Loretta but what else?

Effie is traditionally short for Euphemia.

Why not just Effie as a given name.

This gives a selection of names for nn Etta: names.darkgreener.com/#.*etta$

Or you could just use Etta as a full name.

Stephanie is the only Effie name I can think of (besides Euphemia).

-Etta is about to do what -Elle / -Ella has done. I've seen a number of the baby naming sites tipping it for big things this year. Funnily enough, it does seem to be the upcoming naming trend. I've seen a few threads in the last week mentioning it.

Aletta
Annetta
Arietta
Arletta
Beretta
Brietta
Coletta
Concetta
Coretta
Elisabetta
Giulietta
Janetta
Jetta
Joetta
Josetta
Julietta
Henrietta
Loretta
Marietta
Margaretta
Nicoletta
Nikoletta
Rosetta
Violetta

My suspicion is that -etta is what people are turning to as an 'unusual' alternative to ella, and are going to be disappointed in a few years down the line. I think if you like -etta endings then go for it. However if you are thinking about it to be different, avoid like the plague.

Beretta Confused As in, the gun? How about Bayonetta and be done with it?

Seraphina for Effie also. Maybe slightly less natural than the others mentioned

I know one little girl, Rosetta with nick name Etta.
