We're only 20 weeks pregnant so early days for names but I'm completely uninspired... Don't know gender so names for both sexes would be great. Nothing ending in a y/ie sound as surname ends in ey. Nothing too out there but also looking for a name that's different enough that the kid won't be one of 3 in their class..
Hope this isn't being too picky Eeek!

I know a Willow with a sister Scarlett.

I know a Willow with a sister Aoife.

You could go for another nature name, although maybe not another tree. How about River, Autumn, Primrose, Iris?

For boys, Willow makes me think of Xander and I think the cultural reference is a bit obscure nowadays!

I know a Willow and India, both lovely names.
How about Skye, Seren, Astrid, Faye, Rowan or Saffron for girls.
Or Dylan, Rudy, Zack, Jago or Sol for boys.

Some lovely suggestions! Love Rowan, Robyn and rufus! Saffron and India are both lovely too but willow has friends with those names. Would nell be short for something? X

My instant reaction was Rowan. Maybe a bit matchy though.

Nell is short for Helen Helena or Penelope. Can't think of any more. Love Willow and Nell.

Report
Radish9 · 29/05/2015 06:38

Nell could be short for Eleanor (also a lovely name but the Nell nickname would have to be strictly enforced for fear of her becoming another 'Ellie').

It's got to be Xander or Tara really.

Wouldn't really want to use a name like India since we already know one and see her regularly. Might be different if she had a common name like Ella or Sophie.
I didn't even realise there was a character in buffy called willow until we named dd and so many people that's where we found the name..
