On here again.... I know Hmm. We really do have our final two now. DH still being quite lovely about it all and just telling me to choose. I thought me having the final decision would make it easy but no. So I really would value your opinions again please.

Rosalie Iris Mary
Grace Phyllis Rose

Thanks again Flowers

I would just wait until she is here and choose the one which feels right then.

They are both nice. Grace slightly has the edge for me, I love its simplicity, but Rosalie is very pretty too. Does one go better with your last name? A friend has a Grace with a last name beginning with "S" and I find her first and last names run into each other.

Both lovely. My favourite is Rosalie Iris Mary

I prefer Grace- I think it's a "stronger" name and I have one

And I don't specially like Ros. Which will happen. I know you've decided but I can't resist saying that Rose Iris Mary works well.

You do know that the initials are RIM, don't you? Sorry.

Rosalie. I work in early years and there are lots of little Graces around at the moment. Havent come across a Rosalie yet.

Rosalie Iris Mary is lovely :)

Wait until she is here then you will know. I like grace but not Phyllis but that's because I think it spoils grace which on its own is lovely. Grace rose is enough for me!

Rosalie is lovely, not a big fan of Grace.

what about Grace Iris Rose, agree with purple that phyllis seems to spoil Grace. But love Grace and rose

Rosalie Iris Mary. What a lovely combo.

Graces are ten a penny and, imo, not usually the least bit graceful.

I agree with making your final choice once she is here. It makes a difference hugely.

Well, one in every 130 girls, anyway. And presumably as graceful or not as any other little girl.......

I love Rosalie Iris Mary.
Beautiful names.

Rosalie more unusual, but both lovely names. Why don't you wait and see if one seems more appropriate once you've met her?

Report
InfiniteJest · 07/05/2015 09:39

Definitely Rosalie Iris Mary. That's a lovely combination.

Do you have a slight preference, or just not sure?

Both are lovely names but there are so many grace's at the moment. I would go with Rosalie. It is such a pretty name.
You may agree on a name then when she is born decide it doesn't suit her. I did that with my DS.
You will know for sure when she arrives.
Good luck Flowers

Rosalie Iris Mary sounds lovely.

Thank you for replying so quickly.Smile

Rosalie does seem to go better with our short one syllable surname. Phyllis and Mary or both family names and so wanted to include one if them somewhere.
I think my favorite is Rosalie Iris Mary. I was just not sure if Rosalie (Rose) and Iris together was too much .
We would use Rose or Rosa as the shortening.

Love Rosalie. My name is Rose(not Rosie) and I always get complimented on it as there's not many of me around! (I'm 22). It's commonly over used as a middle name now so nice to see it as a first name! Grin

RIM? Don't do it!

Rosalie Iris Mary

Rosalie and Iris were both on my girls shortlist (although I ended up choosing something else!). Rosalie is also much more unusual than Grace, and prettier IMO.

I like Rosalie but don't think it goes with Iris, sorry!

What about a different mix? Rosalie Grace?

Report
sweetpeame · 07/05/2015 11:09

Both are very pretty, although I think I prefer Grace - timeless and classic. Would probably use nn Rose if I went for Rosalie. Agree with previous posters, just wait and see what she looks like when she arrives!

Definitely the first. Graces are everywhere. Also, although Rose is also everywhere as a mn, it's unusual as a first name. And nicer than Grace.

One-syllable surname, you say, so that definitely tips it for Rosalie.

People stressing about the initials, you do realise that RIM is not the complete set? There will be another at the end. Nobody ever uses their forename initials in isolation. In any case, the vast majority wouldn't see anything embarrassing about RIM.

I love both of those.
