Love them both. Which do you prefer and why?

Many thanks in advance...

Tamsin has the edge for me. Pretty, bohemian and artsy sounding. But Tessa is nice too.

Tamsin is lovely and more unusual which I've always found helpful with my name

Funnily enough one of my best friends is a Tamsin with a sister Tessa.... I prefer Tamsin myself.

Tessa.

Tamsin sounds dated and nothingy.

They're both lovely, but I think Tamsin has the edge. Surprised a PP thinks Tessa is middle aged. I don't know any middle aged people with this name. It's vintage, if anything.

Tamzin spelt with a z. Never shortened though.

Yes, I agree - I like Tamzin best with a z.

Tamsin. Free spirited, barefoot sort.

I see Tessa as middle-aged rather than vintage. Tessa Jowell and Tessa Sanderson are the first Tessas that spring to mind.

Tessa reminds me of old children's books circa 1940s/1950s. I think it's very pretty and classical. Also like Tess.
