Honestly... What do you think? I love it - not for the Shakespeare link but because it reminds me of a Cuban ballet dancer! Exotic yet pretty... DH hates it! Even as a middle name!

it's my favourite girls name ever, DH however wouldn't let me use it. since I have heard of so many being born however so am silently thankful.

it's beautiful. I like nn Effie and Leah. just such a gorgeous gorgeous name!

It's a beautiful name but poor old Ophelia had a bit of a rough time. Also I immediately thought of Jamie Lee Curtis' prostitute role in Trading Places. It is lovely though.

I absolutely love it - it's classic and so beautiful. I had to opt against it for my youngest as, paired with the names my children already had, it sounded frighteningly Boden-esque middle class....

It's very pretty but has tragic association since Ophelia's character in Hamlet came to a bad end (she went mad when Hamlet rejected her and decided to decorate riverside trees with flowers, fell out of tree and drowned!) I associate Ophelia with the line 'get thee to a nunnery'!
