Twins! Completely stuck

Lemon1234 · 11/04/2015 13:14

Expecting twins, don't yet know sexes. I don't want them to have matchy names but I want them to fit iyswim
Dd1 is Jasmine Sarah
Potential girls names:
Hayley
Sofia
Rose
Josephina
Not in love with any of these to be completely honest!
Boys:
Wilfred
Noah
Seth
Peter
Nathaniel

Any suggestions of pairings, middle names and other names would be greatly appreciated!

From your list I would use:
Rose and Sophia (this spelling)
Rose and Noah
Noah and Wilfred (at a push)

Other suggestions to match your names:
Noah and Oliver
Noah and William
Rose and Emily

I like Emily thank you! The spelling Sofia is from dh's country, would it continuously be spelt Sophia in the UK?

Wow I love all your name choices! I like the spelling Sofia. I think Rose and Noah, Rose and Sofia, Noah and Seth. But I really, really love all the names! Interestingly, I know at least two sibling pairs from your lists of names :)

My other thought is I wouldn't put Josephina and Sofia together just cos they could end up Fia and Fina! Or both be Fi-Fi ;)

I like Peter Daniel & Anna Rose for a b/g set though they are far more traditional sounding than Jasmine

Anna Rose & Sofia Emily for g/g though again more traditional than Jasmine

Peter Daniel & Nathan John (rather than Nathaniel) for b/b and again more traditional than Jasmine

Other you may like:

Louisa
Harriet
Emmeline

Daniel
Jonah
Elliot

Just to complicate things further... Maybe it's just me being super picky, but I would always try to avoid having siblings, especially twins, with the same initial. My brother and I have the same initial as my mum. Total postage nightmare! Also a bit twee and "matchy"? I personally also wouldn't have Rose (and say Sofia or Anna) if GG twins as you already have a Jasmine, so two of your 3 DDs would have flower names and the other one wouldn't. I only mention this as my DD is in school with a "non-floral" sister of Lily and Rose, let's call her Amelia, who has quite a chip on her shoulder about being the odd one out. I'd either go for a lovely full bouquet or not at all Wink

So maybe...

Rose + Iris
Rose + Lily
Rose + Poppy
Rose + Daisy

From your choices the ones I personally like best are...

Anna + Sofia

Sofia + Noah
Rose + Seth

Seth + Noah

Lots of lovely names here. Congratulations on the forthcoming arrivals!

I love all the names on your list, and IMO Sophia would be spelt this way where i am in UK.

I really like Josephina however don't like that it's same initial as Jasmine.

perhaps for girl/girl..
Rose and Sophie (think Jasmine, Rose and Sophie sound lovely together- also to avoid the non floral thing a PP just said, Sophie could be Sophie Violet; or Violet Sofia is gorgeous!!)

girl/ boy set
Sophie and Noah (i prefer Sophie to Sofia hens why using as example- Noah is my favourite boys name from your list)

boy/boy set..
Noah and Bradley (Noah, Jasmine and Bradley sound just beautiful together; Bradley is one of my favourite ever boys names!)

Congratulations!!

Wow thank you so much for those amazing lists manic! Of what has been suggested so far, I love alexis, Eva, Annabel and Erin.

I think we have pretty much decided on middle names, after dear friends. One girl would be Antonia, two would be Antonia and Mia
One boy would be Jamie and two would be Jamie and Joseph

Current thoughts are probably
Hayley Antonia
Anna/Annabel/Rose Mia

Noah Jamie
Peter Joseph

Can I put in a good word for Sofia? Yes I do think Sophia is the more recognised spelling in the UK but Sofia is perfectly familiar. I might assume a Sofia had some heritage other than White British but from what you say that's the case anyway?

There is a gorgeous little girl at DD nursery with that name. Big sister is Yasmina (=jasmine I assume?)

Noah and Seth are great. The names are of the same ilk plus I love Seth.

Tbh I don't particularly like your girls names choices although Jasmine is beautiful. How about Amy and Sophia?

From the girls I would use Anna, Sofia or rose. They are all lovely and pair well. I'm not keen on Hayley and Josephine is longer and I think would be better with another longer name-Arrianne, Annabelle, Genevieve, Victoria etc. Of the boys I like Noah best I think, would go with the three shorter girls names. How about Noah and Jacob or James?

Thank you all for your help! Love the suggestion of Oscar. Also like Jenna, although not sure about it having the same initial as Jasmine, which is why I have almost ruled out Josephine.
Also currently mulling over Tessa, Wren and Lewis

I like rose and Sofia and Oscar and Noah :)

My SIL is named Sofia. I'm pretty familiar with this spelling amongst those of Pakistani/Muslim
Background :)

I'm also pregnant with twin boys and struggling to come up with two names! :) good luck!
