Hi all,

I am pregnant with DD4. All my girls have quite unusual names which they seem to like. I had a really common name which I hated so it probably made me choose names that are a little out there.

I am trying to come up with a potential names that are unusual but not too out there that DD will be ridiculed. Can I ask for honest opinions?

Silver
Iella
Sierra
Corinne
Tori
Hallie
Rayna

Thanks :)

Silver - no, just no.
Lella sounds like a baby trying to say yellow
Sierra/sienna / there are a few about where I live
Corrine - lovely, lovely name but how would you pronounce it? I know a corin and a coreen both spelt the same
Tori - too 1980s sloany
Hallie - it's ok - as in Hayley or Halee?
rayna - don't like it

Silver and Sierra are my favourite from your list - another suggestion for Sienna!

Corrine is nice.

Tori is ok, but that is a nn to me, and a bit 'Rah'. Hallie is a NN to me too.

lella does not sound like a name, sounds like someone going 'Izzy - no, that one is Ella...' Rayna is awful.

Sierra, Corinne & Hallie are probably the best of the bunch.

Other's similar I would say are:

Shian
Audra
Liberty
Piper
Avery
Ainsley
Kaela

Ah didn't even think about the elections for Tori...good point.

Yes totally realised it is a typo. It was meant to be Iella :)

Iella paella.

If you really want a truly unique name, you have to virtually make it up, surely?

Sienna is very common around here (common as in popular, not in a negative way Smile).

Silver - Hi Ho.

Iella - Paella (as above).

Sierra - Ford car, popular in the 1980's/90's.

Corinne - not at all unique. Quite 60's/70's.

Tori - same as Corinne.

Hallie - pronounced Hayley or Hal-ee? Hayley I quite like actually. There is a 3 year old Hayley at DD' pre-school and it's refreshingly different to the other, more popular, girls' names.

Rayna - Maca.

Have you considered Delphi? I love it & discovered it just after the birth of my only DD. I've never met one in RL.

Silver - Is a bit of a Mills and Boon sort of name
Iella - Pronouced Eye-ella? Quite confusing to spell and say on first glance
Sierra - Ford Sierra Cosworth RX
Corinne - Nice
Tori - Spelling, maybe go with Victoria/Victorine and use the short form to give her more options later
Hallie - Nope
Rayna - Sounds quite middle aged American
